I only have a short distance to travel so can make it there, but I know some are coming from further afield!

OK, folks.... you really couldn't make this up!!! 😪
We've had another Black Labrador found as a Stray, brought in by the Aberdeenshire Dog Warden.
This time, an older female
Update: Found on bypass at Peterhead not Boddam as per info given to us from Warden.
Sadly, she has no microchip.
She also has a massive mammary tumour !!!
She also has many others along the mammary glands.
We really would like to try and reunite this girl and are hoping she has just gotten a little disoriented from her home.
After today our staff are broken if you are missing this girl please please contact reception 01224 483624
She is safe and comfortable now and been given pain relief by our vets.
Reception is open again at 9am.

What’s included?
Four weeks of group classes where we cover the basics of puppy training 🐶
E.g., sit, lie, settle, stay, drop, leave, nice lead walking and recall.
We also discuss travelling, toilet training, sleeping, mouthing/biting, and more.

After the block of classes there is also a one-off One2One training session for you & your puppy.
This session can be used to address things at home, on walks etc.
It’s a tailor made session to help you & your puppy within 3 months of class ending to ensure the best for their futures 💕

This young lad is Diego!
He’s just a pupster at 6 months old.
He’s a big boy, who sometimes uses his big boy bark when he’s overwhelmed by a situation.
He’s looking for some friends that aren’t shy, and can deal with an occasional bark during the first meet 🫣 (whilst his mum also puts his training into practice).

His mum has a car so is able to drive to meet up, but is local to Peterhead 🐶💕

If anyone would like to be Diego’s friend, please let your paw print here & I will send the details on to your mum & dad 🐶 🐾

Aden Park Meet Up :D

Alot of families I am working with at the moment are not getting the opportunity to work with their doggies as planned due to the lack of people we are seeing out & about walking their dogs, so I have spoken to a few of you who are keen to come & help each other :)

On SATURDAY 6TH APRIL at 10.30am, I will be in Aden Park to offer my help to you all, but you will need to shout on me for help as Aden Park is HUGE haha!
I will be at the 'Dog & Horse Areas' (First Carpark) and will say hello to everyone as they arrive so I know who to keep an eye out for.

The goal of meeting up here is to allow owners to practice what we have been learning during One2One sessions & at class.

Mainly nice, calm, relaxed hello's and being able to carry on with our walks just as calm as we started. Some of our families will also be working on recall at this time.

***If your doggie is a little unsure or nervous of other dogs please let everyone know - attach a ribbon to your dog's lead/ wear reflect clothing or hi-vis vests, or have a loud enough voice to advocate for your dog

ARE YOU LOOKING TO WORK IN AN INDEPENDENT VET PRACTICE OWNED AND RUN BY VETS WHERE THE PATIENTS ARE THE PRIORITY, AND THE STAFF HAVE A SAY?

We are looking for an enthusiastic qualified vet nurse to join our dedicated and friendly team while one of our nurses is on maternity leave.

The role is full time, 38 hours per week with occasional Saturday mornings, no out of hours or on call expected. Based in Ellon with the possibility of occasional work at our Methlick branch. The position is for 12 months with the potential to be extended.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

-Providing first class care to our patients
-Preparing for and assisting the vets with surgery including monitoring anaesthesia
-Working under direction of a vet to carry out routine dental hygiene, stitch up minor wounds, take radiographs and provide life saving first aid
-Communicating with clients and other members of staff
-Running laboratory tests and diagnostics procedures
-Running nurse clinics alongside the other nurses and veterinary care assistants
-Stock control
-Soaking and sterilising equipment and keeping the prep room and theatre clean
-Infection control
-Assisting other staff or students as required

At Glenythan Vet Group we pride ourselves on being an independent RCVS accredited practice with a team that works together closely to ensure first class care for our patients and clients. We are a busy mixed practice in Aberdeenshire with two branches, but this position will be predominately small animal and based in Ellon.
