🌞 It's set to be hot in the UK, and while keeping our furry friends hydrated is crucial, it's important to be aware of the signs of water intoxication in dogs. Too much water can be dangerous! 🐶💧

Watch out for these symptoms:
- Lethargy
- Vomiting
- Bloating
- Loss of coordination
- Excessive salivation

If you notice any of these signs, seek veterinary help immediately.

PLEASE PLEASE leave me at home. It's not nice for me to run next to you. But because I am a loyal dog, I often go beyond my limits. And so I run beside you, stand still if I must. And feel my paws burn. I look at you for a moment, but you don't understand. Because in 5 minutes, we will be at the cool puddle, right? But those 5 little minutes can now just be fatal for me. Because I sweat through my tongue and feet and this heat, I just can't reach it the puddle in time. I cook from the inside, but I keep going.....
And so I end up on the asphalt. In the heat and in the sun. With my tongue out of my mouth and my eyes blinking in the sun.
My feet burned my tongue dry, and my head pounding from the heat that my body can't get rid of the heat.
Don't brand the paw print!
Let your dog enjoy the sun, at home with a large bowl of water, a place in the shade. And best of all, preferably a cool patch of grass.

Today marks the 80th anniversary of D-Day.

Thousands of personnel displayed enormous heroism to storm the beaches of Normandy and help turn the tide of the Second World War.

It is thanks to them we enjoy peace and freedom today. Thank you for your service. We will never forget.

As a business, we are frequently asked to sponsor events. We'd love to sponsor them all, but that's impossible, so each year we sponsor the Petersfield Pony Club horse trials. It's always a fabulous event, well attended and well supported. This is a picture we received with thanks from participant Belinda and Mystical Maisie, how wonderful!

We realised we haven't shared our blue t**s story with you this year. Long-time followers know we set up a video in our nest box each year to watch bluebirds from nesting to fledging.

This year, a woodpecker snatched 5 of the 7 chicks. We were devastated and worried it would return. Thankfully, a friend climbed high up the telegraph pole to add a special front to the box, protecting the remaining chicks. The parent blue t**s returned and raised the two chicks until they fledged. A happy ending, reminding us of the circle of life! 🐦

Another glowing review for our Aunts, this time Aunties Sharon & Terry:

"We had the absolute pleasure of having Sharon and Terry take care of our dog Odin and our home whilst we were away recently in May. As soon as the dates and request were confirmed, they were prompt to introduce themselves and arrange for a meet to ensure our mutual comfort with the arrangement and of course, that of Odin’s. It was evident on first meeting that their kind manner, patience and expertise in this field would be absolutely perfect, and it goes without saying that Odin loved them at first sight too. Whilst away, they were respectful of our time “off” , which gave us the confidence that they could handle “everything” - but equally, they sent us the most authentic update messages of Odin’s day, and how they spent it. Reading the updates was an absolute holiday highlight, which always left us with a smile. You could tell through their words that they captured Odin’s character and manner, which meant they were spending the quality time with him that they promised they would, which was deeply reassuring. They also gave us some tips and shared some insight on how they rectified Odin pulling on his walks, which we have carried forward and have noticed a remarkable difference. We returned home to an incredibly content, happy and healthy Odin, a clean home and sweet little gifts for Odin and a home baked loaf of bread which is beyond anything we’d ever expect. We are sincerely grateful for this experience, it’s the most at ease we’ve ever felt leaving our home and our precious Odin, and for that we are truly grateful. In addition, Animal Aunts HQ were hassle free and expeditious in confirming Sharon and Terry and also a delight to deal with.”

The British public are being asked to report sightings of the Asian Hornet. They cause no greater risk to humans but can eat up to 50 honey bees a day, and we must protect our honey bees. 🐝

Nature organisations have said volatile conditions have increased the risk of new species, such as the red imported fire ant, Chinese mitten crab and Chinese mystery snail, establishing themselves in the UK.
