Spring has sprung! As a horse owner, I’m outside A LOT! I’m loving the warmer weather, lighter mornings and evenings, and the seeing the spring bulbs open up. Sometimes it’s the little things that bring us joy, don’t you find? I’m wondering what you are thankful for this Thursday? ®

I’m so excited to share this with you! 🎉 My first Love to Learn – Chats with My Niece video is finally here!

This whole thing started when Megs (aka my super curious and talented niece) and I were deep in conversation. As an actor, she’s all about personal and professional growth, and we thought—why not share some of our little wisdom nuggets with you all?

These videos are all about keeping it real, fun, and insightful. Hope you enjoy watching as much as we enjoy making them! Let us know what you think! 💬✨

People often spend their time worrying about what happened in the past and planning what will happen in the future, and not really being present in the here and now. Horses live in the moment, their brains are configured in such a way that they don’t post rationalise situations or strategically plan their next move. Working with our horses provides insights into how powerful it is be fully present and totally attentive to this moment.

As Steve Jobs said “Everyone here has the sense that right now is one of those moments when we are influencing the future.”

I believe that now is the only place to influence the future from, do you?

Horses for Courses® uses equine assisted experiential learning techniques to raise personal awareness of core interpersonal and leadership skills.

Super excited for today’s Horses for Courses® Programme. What a brilliant opportunity to learn the art of leadership from our gracious horses. Because horses are individuals, it is easy to make connections between communicating with them and communicating with people. Horses are
experts at reading body language, their survival depends on it. By taking
away the 7% of communication that is verbal, people are able to concentrate
on how they can use their body language to communicate, rapport build,
lead and influence effectively.

I’m in the process of finalising the attendees for my NLP Diploma in Coaching and Business Practitioner Programme starting on the 29th April. One of last year’s participants said the thing they most valued about the programme was ‘the quality of the teaching, the safe and encouraging environment that Lisa facilitated in the opportunities given to learn, practice and reflect on the various coaching models.’

I feel so lucky to have such a great team around me who help me keep my horses fit, healthy and happy. The amazing at Moulton Equestrian College is a font of equine knowledge – I love taking Badger to the aqua-treadmill! I’m wondering what you are thankful for this Thursday? ®

“Judge a man by his questions rather than his answers.” Voltaire

I was delighted with the feedback from my attendees on a recent NLP Diploma in Moving into Leadership after we did a session on coaching practice; “Coaching really works!” The sheer delight on their faces as they discovered they could simply ask some Clean Questions and facilitate the coachee to find their own solutions, was a pleasure to behold.

They had an experience of the privilege that I feel when I help and support someone to feel differently, think differently or behave differently.

How about you?

A coach is someone who helps another person achieve higher effectiveness by creating a dialogue that leads to awareness and action.

The coach asks powerful questions, listens carefully to the response, and then reflects back what they’ve heard.

This helps the person being coached to clarify their thinking.

Coaching is about bringing out the potential of the person being coached, supporting them as they move from where they are to where they want to be, and acting as an accountability partner through the process.

In a nutshell, coaching is really just having a conversation with a purpose.

I’m excited to be sharing my bQUICK® Coaching Method with Glenn Watkins Progressive Leaders Group tomorrow. https://glenndwatkins.com/ https://mybook.to/bQUICK

Getting up and going for an early morning ride reminds of my childhood when we used to sneak out of the house and ride off with our friends at silly o’clock in the morning. It’s a delight that has lasted a life time for me. I’m wondering what you are thankful for this Thursday? ®

5 freedoms of a horse
• Freedom from hunger and thirst. ...
• Freedom from discomfort. ...
• Freedom from pain, injury and disease. ...
• Freedom from distress and fear. ...
• Freedom to express natural behaviour.

The article from World Horse Welfare goes on to elaborate even further. https://www.worldhorsewelfare.org/advice/the-3fs-friends-forage-and-freedom

And one of things they talk about in the article is choice – giving horses the freedom to choose who they want to hang out with! When horses live in a herd they can choose who they want to spend their time with, whom they want to groom, whom makes them feel safe enough to sleep deeply.

I love that my horses often choose to sleep together in the same stable – they do have their own and are free to roam in and out as they want. And they do alternate stables - I’m not sure how they decide whose stable they are sleeping in each night – I’d love to know!!
