Marley the Amazon Parrot came back this week to be sedated to allow us to take two feathers to send away for DNA testing! We will soon find out if Marley is a cheeky boy or girl ππ©·

This week Duncan and his family found a Wahlbergs Eagle that had some form of toxicity. They kept it for 5 days to recover and then released it back to soar the South African skies π¦

The Wahlberg eagle is one of South Africaβs smaller eagles at around 58 cm tall. It is what as known as an inta-African migrant, which means these birds of prey migrate from one area to another within Africa to breed. Arriving for their stay in South Africa between August and September and departing between March and April. π¦

Today offers another video sent to us by Duncan, who's currently enjoying his holiday back at home in South Africa! We have ponies and sheep at the side of our roads... Duncan and his family have elephants! What a magnificent animal π
The average African elephant will grow to between 8.2 to 13 feet (2.5 to 4 meters) from shoulder to toe and weigh between 5,000 to 14,000 lbs. (2,268 to 6,350 kilograms), according to the National Geographic. Wow!
Duncan is currently back home in South Africa having a well deserved holiday πΏπ¦π he sent us this amazing video of a baby elephant with it's mum. It must be pretty amazing to have a herd of elephants at your front door! ππ
