A massive thank you from me to you! Thank you to all of my customers, supporters, and friends for making my vision, a reality! To the past, the present and the future fur babies I love like my own- Merry Woofmas & Happy New Year❤️

Additionally, thank you for all of the cards and gifts, it was unexpected but very appreciated✨

We are now closed for a well deserved break from the rain (minus a few odd jobs) & will be back to normal from Friday 27th🫶🏼

Please help ACE and his amazing helpers.

This appeal is on the behalf of Hannah Pay- Behaviourist at Holistic Dog Behaviour and The Wolf and Dog Development Centre.

Among the many dogs in need, Ace’s story resonated with our staff deeply. Ace was fortunate to be rescued by Debbie, a compassionate individual who has dedicated her life to helping animals. The harsh treatment Ace has endured has made him incredibly fearful. He's never known the comfort of a loving home.

We have the rare opportunity to create a specialised rehabilitation program and provide Ace with the best possible care.
Our approach is rooted in rebuilding early developmental connections, focusing on repairing the foundation rather than simply building on top of the broken parts.

Hannah is seeking donations to support Aces' journey to recovery. This includes his care and one-on-one rehabilitation with Hannah, along with her Wolf And Dog Development Centre colleague Mark, and their dedicated mentors, Kim and Shaun Ellis, who possess unparalleled knowledge and experience in working with animals like Ace.
There isn’t a better place for ace to end up.

Over the years paws has built an amazing community of humans who truly love their dog’s. Ace hasn’t been fortunate enough to know what it is like to have a loving family around him. So now we are calling on this great community to come together and show support in changing this poor dog’s life.

Even if you can't donate, sharing this post can help us reach more people who can support Ace.
Every donation, no matter how small, will make a significant difference in Aces' life.

Friday morning run - boys are full of energy!

As the evenings and mornings get darker, increased numbers of deer are involved in road collisions. 💔

Please drive cautiously, and be alert on your travels.

If you sadly have a collision with a deer, please report it to the police and record the incident here: www.deeraware.com

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
How big is the pool?
-Our pool measures 32x15ft and 52" deep (~132cm).

Is there anyone else in the pool?
-There is a trained staff member present in the pool at all times.

Can I join my dog in the pool?
-Yes! We actively encourage you to hop in to help entice your dog (though this is not mandatory).

Does my dog need to be on the lead?
-Our pool is within an enclosed paddock and a leash is not required inside, however to reach the enclosed site, dogs must be leashed when exiting the vehicle at the designated parking area and walked up the access path.

Are restricted breeds allowed?
-Yes, restricted breeds (such as the XL bully) are allowed, provided they have the necessary registration and insurance. (proof will be required beforehand or upon arrival)

How long are the sessions?
-Sessions are limited to 30 minutes (including entrance/exit time). Swimming can be intensive (1 minute of swimming = approximately 1 mile of running for a dog) therefore short sessions are in the dogs best interest.

Can I book the pool for my dog only?
-Solo sessions are available for you and your dog alone (along with a trained staff member). Additional dogs can be added onto these sessions. Solo sessions are £25 with £12.50 extra per additional dog.

What session should I book for a first time visit?
-First time visits should use the solo session option, the pool surroundings can be unfamiliar and a dogs swimming capability must be assessed before group sessions are used.

What are the group sessions?
-We offer a variety of group sessions for friendly and sociable dogs who have already visited via a solo session and are comfortable around and in the pool.
Group sessions are £16 per dog.
These include:
-Puppy Paddle (14 wks - 6 months, 3x dogs max),
-Senior Swim (9+ years, 5x dogs max)
-Buddy's Pool Party (small/medium breeds, 5x dogs max),
-Buddy's Pool Party (medium/large breeds, 5x dogs max)
-Dock Diving (Full height dock, 5x dogs max - Dog must be very confident jumping from full height ramp).

Does the pool get emptied?
-The pool will be fully emptied and cleaned once a year or more if required, the rest of the year, the pool is chemically treated, filtered and regularly vaccumed.

Can you wear crocs/water shoes in the pool?
-Crocs and water specific shoes are allowed within the pool.

Do you have wetsuits available?
-We have a couple spare suits available for use. Please check with us beforehand for sizing.

Are there changing facilities?
-Yes there are basic changing facilities within the enclosed paddock.

Is the pool heated?
-The pool is not currently heated and water temp varies from 12-20c dependent on ambient temperatures.

How do we get in the pool?
-Humans enter the pool through the side ladder. Dogs enter via the dock platform and ramp. Dogs must enter of their own accord, DO NOT THROW, PUSH OR SHOVE YOUR DOG. Anyone doing so will be asked to leave.

Does the ramp move?
-Yes the ramp moves up and down, this allows access for the dogs from within the pool.
-The ramp can also raised to a fixed height for dock diving.

Do you have toys?
-We have a large selection of toys available from balls, to Frisbees, tug toys and more. However if your dog has a special attachment to a specific toy, then it may be useful to bring along as encouragement.

My dog is reactive, can they still come?
-Reactivity does not immediately exclude a dog from visiting, however in an emergency a human (staff member) may need to touch your dog, if you feel your dog may be aggressive in this situation then unfortunately we are not suitable for you. Any signs of aggression during a group session will result in you being asked to leave.

What do I need to do before bringing my dog along?
-Please refrain from feeding your dog for 2 hours before and after swimming.
-Wait at least 48hrs after applying topical medications (such as flea treatment).
-Ensure nails are trimmed short to avoid damage to the pool liner.
-Dogs must be up to date on vaccinations or titre tested.
-Dogs recovering from injury must be cleared by their vet for swimming before visiting.
