Barney's first walk of 2024. Had a bit of time off due to the puppy being poorly and celebrating Christmas but we are now back in full swing 🥰

**all walks postponed this week**

Update on Lenny. He came home late lastnight following surgery to remove a large bit of rubber from his intestines. How and when he even swallowed such a thing is a wonder in itself. I have watched him like a hawk since he came home last weekend and he is crated when he can't be watched. It just goes to show how quickly something like this can happen. I will forever feel guilty for this happening under my watch. Lenny also had some complications after surgery where he aspirated on his sick, so now having to keep a close eye on his breathing he is on antibiotics for this. Toby struggled seeing him yesterday so poorly and sad from his op and got really emotional and couldn't look at him 😢

However, good news, he is eating little and often, and he is showing some of his playful character which is really lovely. He has a nasty large wound with stitches. And I now have to try and keep him contained for some time. Wish me luck 🙏

What an ordeal for the poor little man but I'm just forever grateful to the vets being so amazing and to have him back home with us. We truly adore him so much already.

Now just have to figure our how to pay for it all seeing as insurance clause states they will not pay out until 2 weeks after the policy starts ..... he has only been here a week. But it was either this or the unthinkable and that just wasnt an option. Always at Christmas ay?

Bella had one of her most successful walks with us today. Today we focused on training and her focus on the person at the other end of the lead. Bella has an independent nature due to her time as a stray as a puppy having to survive alone. Today was the first time I dedicated a whole walk to having her walking without pulling or letting her nose drift everywhere. Within 20 minutes she was trotting by my side with only the odd correction and slack on the lead

And the last walk of the day was with Barney. I have to say, when I started with Barney a few months ago now he was terrified of everything but now he is growing in confidence and greets his walk buddies with the waggyest tail. ❤️

Second walk of the day was Bellas second walk of the week. We have been working more on lead manners this week and it's definitely paying off ❤️
