Established in 1976, Court Gates is a friendly yard with a school, horse walker, hot wash, 250 acres Any vacancies are posted on our page.

Court Gates was established in 1976 and is a warm and welcoming yard which is run by Jane and Lou Hendy. We cater for full liveries, either 5 or 7 days a week, assisted liveries (you pay for the occasions on which we help you). Jane and Lou are also available to ride/school your horse/pony, or give lessons,and they are both available to give advice and help with your equine. We have regular visits

from equine dentists, physiotherapists, saddler, and even a spiritual healer (if you require her assistance). We do a weekly pickup service from the local feed merchant (which can be added to your bill at the end of the month). Hay/haylage and straw bedding are included in the price, as is use of all facilities (no hidden extras). We have competative riders, and happy hackers (no one will judge you). There is a Horse Walker inclusive in your livery fee for those rainy days., and really good for recuperating from any injuries. Tea and coffee are available at no extra cost in our Tea Hut overlooking the school

Releasing the Tawny owl back to the woods to be with his mate and eggs. Thanks to the staff at The Barn Owl Trust for bathing him and getting him airborne . Thanks to Alana, Evie and friends for dealing with the owl. The Barn Owl Trust

Surprise owl in a stable this morning. He got stuck in a fly strip, so consequently was in a sticky mess. Sharon Egglestone managed to get the tape off him, but he still had a sticky substance on him from the tape. Rang RSPCA - didn’t want to know - obviously spent all their money on expensive TV adverts! Rang The Barn Owl Trust, and , as we speak, he’s having a lovely bath and spruce up. He’ll be back soon with his partner to hopefully raise their offspring

When driving, you should now pass horse riders and horse-drawn vehicles at speeds under 10 mph and allow at least 2 metres of space. Check the changes, let’s keep each other safe.

Our Story

Court Gates, established in 1976, making it the longest running yard in this area, is a warm and welcoming yard which is run by the Hendy family. We cater for full liveries, either 5 or 7 days a week, part liveries, which we run on a flexible, assisted livery scheme (you only pay for the occasions when you need help) or DIY livery, we also specialise in schooling and training. Any vacancies are posted on our page. Jane is also available to ride/school your horse/pony, and she is available to give advice and help with your equine. We have a floodlit 30mx40m school with a new Fibresand surface with the addition of a set of showjumps including fillers, and working hunter jumps. We also have a hot wash. We have regular visits from equine dentists, physiotherapists, and saddlers. We do a weekly pickup service from the local feed merchant (which can be added to your bill at the end of the month). Hay/haylage and straw bedding are included in the price, as is use of all facilities (no hidden extras). We have competitive riders, and happy hackers (no one will judge you). Refreshments are available at no extra cost in our Tea Hut overlooking the school. We aim to provide a relaxed and happy environment for you to enjoy your horse/pony.
