The Mews is getting a brand-new home!
The Mews has been a beloved, permanent home for many years, serving as part of Woodside since the early days. It's been a space for so many, but after years of service and temporary fixes, it's time for a well-deserved upgrade. We are one of the few charities in the region to offer a loving, permanent home to cats who, through age or illness, cannot be rehomed

We're thrilled to announce that we are fundraising to replace the current structure and build a new, comfortable, safe and sustainable environment for the cats who depend on it. This will cost £65,000.

Thanks to a generous donation, we're able to get started and the demolition of the current unit will begin in the next few weeks, followed by the groundworks to build a better home for our feline friends. But we still need to raise more funds to complete the project.

Every contribution, big and small, brings us one step closer to giving these deserving cats the care they need and a safe haven for years to come. To donate, please visit easydonate.org/MEWS25 or text MEWS25 to 70201 to donate £1; 70331 to donate £3; 70970 for £5 and 70191 for £10. Or donate through this post. Thank you!

*Should we raise above the amount needed to build The Mews, we will use any additional funds to care for the cats that use our special care units.

The lovely Lulu finally has something to smile about…she’s found her forever home!
Jack Russell Lulu arrived at the sanctuary after her owner sadly passed away. While with us, veterinary checks revealed a heart condition, which meant Lulu, who’s 14-years-old, needed palliative care.
Woodside care assistant Eliza fell in love with Lulu (it was impossible not to!) and we’re delighted to report that she’s taken her home!
Eliza tells us that Lulu has settled in well and is doing great. She loves her new canine companion, Charlie and together they’ve been exploring the garden and river, playing ball and making friends with the chickens and sheep that live next door.
An evening meal of fresh fish is going down very nicely! We’re so happy for you, Lulu. Take care beautiful girl x

🐾 Bella is one of the three residents living in our Dunroamin Unit, a cozy space at our sanctuary designed for dogs with unique needs and those who need extra time to find their forever home.💖
At 12 years old, Bella came to us after the ill health of her owner. Sadly, she has complex medical needs including mammary tumors and lung issues, which mean she’s on palliative care. But despite her challenges, Bella remains a happy and loving dog and we’re committed to providing her with the best quality of life possible. 🐶💕

Bella spends her days in reception, where she has company and attention from staff and visitors alike. We are hoping to find her a loving, local home, where we can continue to support her ongoing care.

But Bella isn’t just looking for a home. She’s looking for sponsors to help fund her care as lives out her days surrounded by love and comfort in our Dunroamin Unit. 🌈 Your support helps us ensure Bella and others like her get the special care they need.

COULD YOU BE BELLA’S HERO?
Sponsor Bella today and make a real difference in her life. You can support her journey, and in turn, the future of many dogs like her who pass through Dunroamin. To learn more about our sponsorship scheme visit www.woodsidesanctuary.org.uk and click on the Sponsor Us tab.

The warmer weather has arrived which also means it’s time to shift those extra pounds. Amos has started to get his summer body with the help of staff, having a go at jumping over cavaletti rails.

🌞The moment you realise warmer days are here and you can soak up the sun’s rays!😻☀️.

Like the majority of our 23 resident cats, Nuka is loving the sunshine in our peaceful memorial garden. While they all have free roam of the sanctuary during the day, many of them prefer staying cozy indoors when it’s cold and rainy. But now that the sun is shining, it’s heartwarming to see them outside, basking in the warmth!🐾.

It’s moments like these that remind us of the joy that simple pleasures bring.

Woodside has made it to Everest Base Camp!
Huge thanks to our incredible supporter, Caroline Lowe, who took on this epic challenge for us. Sadly, Caroline had to be evacuated at 4400m due to acute altitude sickness - but her amazing teammates carried on and made sure the flag reached Base Camp!
You’re an inspiration, Caroline - thank you for being such a trouper!

Caroline met staff member Sarah and the lovely Reggie on a recent trip to the sanctuary.

We still have a few spaces available for this event. Please contact (01752) 347503 to book in. Previous events have always been a sell out and very much enjoyed by all that attended.

"Fighting like cats and dogs" is a catchphrase most of us are familiar with. However, while some are sworn enemies, others can live in perfect harmony.
We currently have a number of cats in our care who would be happy to share their new home with a friendly canine companion.
Take beautiful Bonnie, a 2 year old tabby and white cat who could live with a dog and children aged 5+ - but no cats!
Bonnie is an active girl who loves to play. She is friendly but not keen on being picked up or stroked at the base of her back.
Black and white Felix, 15, is a gentle soul who enjoys a chin and cheek tickle. Indoor cat Felix is a quiet, calm boy could live with dogs and cats and children aged 15+.
Black long-haired cat Scruff would like to find a home with her companion, tabby cat Mia. And three wouldn't be a crowd for this pair, who could live with a dog. Scruff and Mia are 8-year-old indoor cats who might be okay to live with older children. They are friendly but can be tetchy about too much attention.

Happy Birthday to Delilah! This gorgeous girl turns three today.
Sadly Delilah doesn't feel she has much to celebrate through. Having recently arrived at the sanctuary due to her owner's ill health, she's struggling with cattery life.
Delilah hopes it won't be long before she finds her forever home. She is housetrained and would prefer to be the only cat in her new home. A calm home with no children and dogs is probably best suited to this girl.
