We have had to say goodbye to two our our lovely residents recently. Misty the tortishell had recently moved into Sunnyside and was 16 years of age. She was being treated for heart and thyroid problems but responding well to treatment but unexpectedly her kidneys failed and we had to make the decision to say goodbye.
Louis was 12 and lived in the Mews and was living with jaw cancer but we suspect this spread to his bowel. He was a cheeky boy who loved to say hello to visitors. Both will hugely be missed. RIP beautiful souls.

Skyla is a sweet natured 9 month old Cane Corso cross. Although she can be initially nervous, especially of men, we have already seen an improvement in the short time she has been with us.
She’s met dogs both on the lead and in our enclosed field and been great.

Mindy is just 18 months and arrived with us due to messing in the home. Since arriving with us Mindy has been clean and we believe that it was her fear of the other cat in the home that caused the toileting issues, so would not be able to live with cats in a new home. She is looking for an adult only home.

A sweet but nervous girl, Mindy is looking to be an indoor cat.

Semi-long haired, she would require regular brushing.

How can anyone resist this face? ✨️
Star is shining her cutest smile in hopes that someone with a quiet, understanding home will spot her!
She is a 3/4 year old female looking for an pet free home and a home with children over 14 years old as she can find younger children a little stressful. A friendly girl that enjoys attention and often follows staff around when cleaning to see what they are up too.🥰

Petunia & Cookie 🍪
A friendly pair of females looking for a pet free home together. These girls are 5&6 years old and love a fuss. Petunia even likes to give staff a little lick time to time, they are suitable to live with children and are looking for a home that isn't near any busy roads as they can become stressed around roads.
They love sitting and looking out at the coming and goings of the cattery and will often greet people as they enter the cattery 💕

Thanks storm Eowyn.
Please bear with us this morning as we try and deal with a fallen tree.
Grateful all animals are safe and well. That’s always the main thing.

Yikes! Sadly we are used to it raining cats and dogs but today multiple areas of the sanctuary were flooded. We can’t thank our staff enough for their ability to spring into action, keeping all the animals safe and dry and clearing the areas of water so promptly! Stay safe out there over the coming days.

Sweet boy Olly 🧡
A 10/11 year old sensitive boy who needs a quiet understanding adult only home. He can be a little skeptical of humans at first but once he spends a little time getting to know you he is a cuddly lap cat, who loves a fuss. He is unable to live with children or dogs but could potentially live with a female cat 🐱

Say hello to just four of the 10 degus we currently have at the sanctuary looking for new homes.
They are all of a lovely nature. Nosey and keen to say hello. They are an adventurous bunch. They love to climb around their cages, exploring hideaways and tunnels but they especially love their wheels.
What to find out more or book to meet them, then please do get in touch.

Sometimes the saddest of situations can have a happy ending. Take ex-Woodsiders Bella and Rupert, for instance.
Some of you might recall how, within days of arriving in our care last spring, Saluki Bella was diagnosed with spleen cancer which had spread to her lymphatic system, and she potentially only had months to live.
We needed to find a very special home where nine-year-old Bella could be with her best friend Rupert, a 10-year-old Pomeranian-Husky X, who was blind.
Due to their health conditions and ages, we knew it wouldn’t be easy to find this beautiful pair the loving home they deserved.
However in May, Bella and Rupert were rehomed and it fills our hearts with happiness to hear that they are both doing great!
This week we received a lovely update from their adopters sharing news that Bella is “absolutely thriving” and “full of energy and love.” Rupert, who was renamed Boopert (and later Boops because he bumps into things), has quickly adapted to his new surroundings. His adopters have laid artificial grass on their garden steps and corners so that Boops can feel his way around.
They say Bella and Boops are very gentle dogs who love being around the children in their family home, going to the beach and also food – particularly chicken!
They said “they’ve become a perfect part of our home” and that they feel “super lucky to have found them.” We think Bella and Boops are lucky to have found you too!

Could you help? We are running desperately short of fish and potato-based dry dog foods.
We are currently caring for a number of dogs who need potato and fish-based foods to help with weight gain and/or allergies.

Arden Grange white fish and potato and Harringtons Salmon and Potato are among the foods we urgently need. Any funds donated on this post will be used to purchase the food . Thank you!

Woodside resident Rocco has been enjoying exciting adventures with one of our lovely team here at the sanctuary.
Beaches, parks and National Trust properties are just some of the places Rocco has been exploring on his days out from the sanctuary.
This handsome boy has also been enjoying regular sleepovers, before heading back to the sanctuary to catch up with staff, who all adore him.
Rocco, a Dogue de Bordeaux X, is one of dozens of animals who remain as much-loved residents at Woodside when, for a number of reasons, permanent homes cannot be found.

Considering adding a small furry to your family? Then perhaps our adorable Degus could be the perfect pets for you.
Since last November, we have been caring for a family of 12 Degus. While one has now found a home, the remaining 11 have received little or no interest.
We are caring for four male and seven female Degus who could be rehomed in pairs (or more) of the same s*x, or potentially join an existing group of Degus of the same gender.
Degus are small creatures with big personalities and are growing in popularity due to their sweet and friendly nature.
These intelligent creatures are active during the day, which makes them a fun pet to have around. They love to play and explore - running on wheels, climbing on structures and taking sand baths, but they also like to relax with a tummy rub.
To find out more about our Degus, please visit https://www.woodsidesanctuary.org.uk/adopt-a-pet/
