The world's oldest leopard gecko turned 40 this year! Her name is Großmütterchen, and her owner keeps her in Germany with UVB lighting, natural substrate, plenty of space, and annual brumation.

The current average lifespan for a leopard gecko is 10-15 years, but these numbers are dragged down by the sheer number of geckos that are kept according to folklore husbandry standards in minimalist conditions. There is so much we don't yet know about reptiles' true potential lifespan when we actually keep them correctly!

Personally I hate seeing breeders pushing sales and reducing prices of animals so they aren’t stuck with them over the Christmas season!
Maybe don’t breed as many!?
Why would you want to force sales desperately as you’ve got so many and not actually want the best possible homes for the animals?
I respect other breeders when they hold back until after Christmas . And even give vouchers etc to whoever to choose an animal after Christmas.
That’s just my opinion and I won’t change how I do things here.
