How To Clean Your Dog’s Ears

Your dog’s ears are obviously very important! Keeping them nice and clean will help to prevent any infections and irritations that may arise. How often you should clean your dog’s ears will depend on the breed, as ears can vary in shape and some breeds are just more prone to infections. Your vet should be able to make a recommendation to you as to how often you should be cleaning them.

To clean your dog’s ears, here’s what you need to do:

First thing is first, make sure your dog is comfortable. If they are agitated by you handling their ears, it may be best to seek professional advice rather than do it yourself. If you have a new puppy, it’s a good idea to get them used to this at a young age as this will make it easier in the future.

Wahl Easy Ear Cleanser cool as it cleans, reduces inflammation and discourages ear mites and fleas.
A carefully balanced formula that will effectively remove dust, dirt and ear wax from your pet’s ears with little or no rubbing. Based on natural ingredients, including aloe vera gel and menthol to soothe the ear, camphor to assist in reducing inflammation and eucalyptus to discourage ear mites and fleas.
Sulphate free, paraben free, vegan friendly, gluten free, silicone free, phthalates free, sorbates free, phosphate free, DEA free


For light ear cleaning
Apply a few drops of the Easy Ear Cleanser to a cotton wool pad or a similar soft cloth. Then hold your dog still while you gently rub around the ear to remove any dirt or wax build-up. Finish up by wiping the excess away with a clean cotton pad.

For heavier ear dirt and wax removal
You can apply the Easy Ear Cleanser directly to the ear. Leave the solution to work for up to 30 seconds before wiping it away with a clean cotton pad or cloth.

Always be gentle when wiping the ears to avoid hurting the internal ear structure. Never poke or push anything into the ear canal.


There you have it! Cleaning your dog’s ears can be as simple as that.
