THIS.

This is why so often, so many people struggle with their dogs, or to get the calm, 'perfect' pooch πŸ• they're dreaming of.

It's not a criticism of the dog, OR of the individuals who own them. What it comes down to, is a basic lack of understanding or WHAT THE DOG WAS BRED TO DO.

Your Border Collie keeps trying to herd cars 🚘? Your German Shepherd barks at people? Your Springer / Cocker is high energy⚑️, picks things up, and is driven everywhere by their nose? Yep, yep and yep!

You wouldn't use a hammer to paint a wall. It's about using the right tool for the right job!

If your dog has been shaped, honed and designed by hundreds of years of development and selective genetic breeding to fulfil a task... they're going to want to do that task!

The answer isn't to try and force them not to. The answer is to work with them and give them an outlet where they CAN be themselves. To set them up for success.

This is where we help people - and dogs - to reach the balance they need for the lives they want 😁

🌟πŸ₯³πŸŒŸπŸ₯³πŸŒŸ MISSION SUCCESSFUL! 😁 🌟πŸ₯³πŸŒŸπŸ₯³πŸŒŸ

This is Leo. Over excited, over stimulated, lacking in focus Leo... but that was a few weeks ago!

Now, through a combination of new engagement regime, improved communication, and dedication from his owner, we have calm, focused, not-pulling-on-lead Leo πŸ˜‰

Another win for the triple lock method, another win for an owner better able to communicate with their dog and - most importantly - another win for another calm, engaged and happy dog πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

So... how can we help you??

It must be Monday again 🀣

What's the worst thing your dog has ever chewed?! For me, it was when our rescue dog went through our DVD cases every time we were out of the house πŸ˜‚πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ

What's the hardest part of dog training❓️

The thing people miss the most - is that a dog DOESN'T WANT to ignore you. Most of the time, it just doesn't know what you want πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ. Let me explain...

Dogs don't see πŸ‘€ the world like we do, and they don't communicate the same way. You can say an instruction until you're blue in the face, but unless a dog understands an ACTION to associate to it, it's just noise! πŸ”Š

So, we use a training method to make CERTAIN that the dog knows what you want. A triple-lock πŸ” mechanism to ensure the command sticks, and the dog isn't confused.

It's all about tying your command to YOUR action, and to the dog's action... and then, ACTION 🎬!

If there's an instruction you can't get to stick, or a behaviour you can't reliably achieve, this is probably at the route of the problem.

Let us know, and we'll see how we can help! 😁

So... What's YOUR new year's resolution?!πŸ’‘

It's the first 'proper' Monday of the year. Festive fun πŸŽ„ well and truly over πŸ›‘!

It's easy to get a bit down at this time of year, but the other opportunity is to work out what you want to focus on and improve. And that doesn't just have to mean shifting the extra mince pies we've all eaten... πŸ₯§

What about learning new skills? Improving your relationship with your dog? Getting more active?

Whether it's focusing on a particular problem πŸ”, or helping you navigate training your new pooch πŸ“ˆ, we can help!

So... What do you want to achieve?? βœ…

Happy New Year! πŸŽ‰

After a manic end to 2022 - working, training, and Christmassing - we're back refreshed and ready for the challenge of '23!

It started with a NY get away into Dartmoor and an escape into the wilds for a few days... And try to burn off some mince pies 🀣🀣
