We have a beautiful space open Wednesdays & Saturdays in conjunction with Bates Green Garden! With outside seating in either the sun or the shaded terrace, you can enjoy the tranquility of the countryside whilst enjoying a cream tea, cooked breakfast, brunch or lunch! Quality coffee, professional chefs, beautiful cakes & a delightful shopping area filled with local crafts & gifts, all with a nature theme!

🌳July offer! Entry to the gardens, the ancient woodland & a clotted cream tea only £10!🍓 (Children half price, carers free. Free cream tea not available with free entry memberships)

🌿Fully accessible with free mobility scooters for the garden & woods!

Important information for wild birds in our gardens. 🐦🐦‍⬛

During a heatwave, birds need extra water to stay cool and hydrated since they can't sweat and lose moisture quickly. Water also helps them clean their feathers and cope with heat stress.

How to Help:

Put out shallow dishes of clean water.

Refresh daily and place in the shade.

Add stones for perching.

Set up multiple stations to avoid crowding.

Even a small water source can save lives during extreme heat.

During nesting season, mealworms are an excellent food source as they provide essential protein and energy for parent birds and growing chicks. Offering live or dried mealworms can support egg production, chick feeding, and overall health. Always pair with fresh water and other balanced food sources. 🐦‍⬛🐦🐣

In hot weather, water is vital for birds, especially when feeding their young. It helps them stay hydrated, regulate body temperature, and produce enough moisture-rich food for their chicks. Without adequate water, both adult birds and their young can quickly become stressed or dehydrated.
