I have been putting off posting this as I still can’t believe it but unfortunately we had to close our doors last week for what will hopefully not be forever but for the foreseeable 😞

The right decision is sometimes the hardest and I can’t currently give the business the time and attention I want and need to.

Feel unbelievably lucky to have been able to dream my dream job for 3 1/2 years and I am beyond grateful to every single client I have had in that time- you made my dream a reality and it was the absolute best.

This isn’t goodbye from us just a see you later ❤️❤️

Thats a wrap for 2022! It has been one crazy year with alot of changes with the business and we are very grateful to all our clients and their wonderful dogs 🐾 Looking forward to seeing familiar and new faces in 2023. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 🎄✨✨

Do you have a puppy or getting one soon? 🐶

Research shows that early socialisation is critical in shaping your dogs temperament in adulthood.

Luckily as long as your dog is fully vaccinated they can come to daycare from any age and socialise in a safe, controlled environment. They will be able to experience the freedom of being able to interact with other dogs in a secure 2 acre paddock meaning not only will you have a well rounded pup but also a tired one 😂

These are just a few of the puppies that have been with us over the years and many owners kindly attribute their dogs fantastic temperament to visiting daycare from such a young age.

Part-time positions available- PLEASE SHARE 🐾

I am looking for two people to join the team here at Barkwell ☺️

The applicant will need to be able to start by mid October in order to shadow myself and get to know all the dogs and the way everything is run before I go on maternity leave.

Applicants are required to LOVE dogs, previous experience working with dogs is ideal but not necessary but you will have to at least come from a background where by you have at spent a lot of your personal time around dogs (i.e always had family dogs etc).

Whilst this is the job of dreams it doesn’t mean its easy, you will need to be always looking and listening to make sure everyone is happy and healthy and that everyone is getting on well.

Working days will be Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and there will be a morning shift and afternoon shift;

Morning - 07:45-12.45
Afternoon - 12.30- 17:30

Contracts will be for 15 hours a week for 9 months but there will still be a position available after 9 months just the hours may vary (could be more or less).

The daycare is run from a cabin and paddock on my land in Pontarddulais so you will need transportation and there is no public transport running up here.

If you are interested please send me a copy of your CV and I will then be carrying out informal chats to decide on the right candidates.

Human Pup arriving November 2022 👶🍼

As many of you will already be aware we have a newbie joining us in November but do not fear as the plan is to get someone on board to cover my maternity.

For the time being daycare will only be running Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (this could change throughout my maternity but its to allow the business to build up as we are now in a new area).

The times are changing slightly as follows;

Drop off- 07:45-09:00
Pick up- 16:00-17:30

Please ensure you keep to the earliest drop off and latest pick up as during my maternity staff won’t be available before 07:45 and will be leaving at 17:30.

I will be advertising for staff very shortly so if you are interested or know anybody that could be interested please get in touch- they will be shadowing me for a week or two before I go on maternity to ensure your pups are familiar with them and that its a smooth transition 🥰

The position isn’t just to cover maternity and will still be available once I return but the hours may vary 🐾

It has been a labour of love and tears but we are finally nearly there! Better late than never 😂 Few final touches but getting the sign off from the Council Friday and then we are good to go ☺️ looking forward to seeing lots of old friends and hopefully plenty of new ones too ❤️ Please get in touch to book your dogs in for a day of fun at our daycare- plenty of room to explore and play with some snuggly sofas and beds for recovery naps 🐾
