We have a new job vacancy here at Pontepets. The role is for an animal care assistant/ store assistant.

Duties will include the cleaning and care for our livestock, as well as general shop duties such as helping customers, cash handling, pricing and checking new stock, merchandising, general housekeeping of the store etc.

The vacancy is a permanent position and is for 28 hrs per week which will be 4 days out of every 7. Full flexibility is required to cover holidays , sick leave, etc. pay rates meet national living wage standards. We are taking applications from the New Year and will be looking to start the successful candidate around the beginning of February.

A knowledge of animals and birds would be an advantage but not essential. If you are interested in becoming a part of our fantastic team here at Pontepets then pick up an application form from the shop and hand it in to either Emma or Joanne in person. Closing dates for any applications will be January the 14th with a view to start an applicant around the beginning of Feb.

Lovely new range of snack a day dog treats now available in store. Veggie treats which are low in fat, gluten free. Grain and wheat free, hypoallergenic. Also great for reducing plaque. Prices start from 55p

Squirtle is back for a week. I know he is missed by lots of our customers, so if you'd like to see him, he will be here until Sunday 4th August 🐢

Squirtle is at home for the spring and summer months for some natural daylight. He's just had a bath and a rinse and is now having a light lunch under the supervision of our youngest daughter. 😂

Anyone know who this is? Thanks For everyones input 😂😂 turned off commenting now as I think it's getting a bit our of hand. For those that really care, our eyes met as he left the shop and I think he is the love of my life and my world cannot continue without him in it, or something like that 🤨
