Many of you will have noticed that Alice finished as a member of our team a couple of weeks ago πŸ₯² Having been with us from the age of 16 (and now 21) she has been a regular friendly, face on the yard for years and one that we are sorry to see leave. In her time here, she has achieved so much, not only with the qualifications she has gained but also with the progress she has made personally. From the shy, young girl who arrived 5 years ago, she has grown each year in confidence and become a hard working, reliable young adult who is sure to be an asset to any future team she joins.

We'd like to thank Alice for the time she spent here and wish her all the best with her next adventure πŸ€πŸ€

πŸ’¨ Lesson Update πŸ’¨

All lessons scheduled for Saturday 7th December are cancelled. Payments will automatically be moved forward to Saturday 14th December. Please email to let us know if you can't make it next Saturday.

I'm sure many of you are wondering about the horses and ponies..... they are all well, generally unphased and happily munching hay in their stables! Luckily, other than the portaloos blowing over, there is also no damage here so far!

We have made the decision to cancel all lessons running before 1pm and will update later this morning with regards to this afternoons lessons.

All lesson payments will be moved forward to next Saturday. Please email to let us know if you are unable to attend next week.

⭐️ UPDATED post on tomorrow's lessons ⭐️

Having read the concerns of those commenting on the original post I'd like to add that the decision made this evening with regards to tomorrow is not a final decision. Please rest assured that come the morning, should the storm be in full force as predicted the likelihood will be that lessons for at least the morning if not the full day will be cancelled.
We are simply waiting to see how the storm pans out before making the call.

We take the safety of both our staff and customers very seriously and do not wish for anyone to put themselves at risk for the sake of a riding lesson.

I should also add that if anyone booked in for tomorrow would rather make a decision for themselves this evening as opposed to wait to see what the morning brings then they are within their usual right to cancel their class with no charge.

⭐️As it currently stands we are going ahead with all riding lessons tommorow (Saturday 7th December). We will assess the weather again in the morning and update further if needed ⭐️

We are now in a position to offer another lucky individual the opportunity to train with our team.

We are a family run, equestrian centre that has specialised in teaching horse riding for the past 25 years to all ages and abilities. We have an active Pony Club Centre, host a wide range of activities and hold frequent competitions in a range of disciplines. As well as being home to over 20 riding school horses/ponies we also have several show jumping and vaulting horses.

This is a full time position and involves all general yard duties such as feeding, catching/turning out, grooming, mucking out, tacking up etc. Stable management training will be offered to help develop a range of skills such as lunging, clipping etc. Training will also be provided for tasks relating to marketing, customer care, events and general yard management.

Ridden training will be available and the opportunity to compete for those capable. For more able candidates there may also be opportunities to work on the development and schooling of our horses/ponies.

All apprentices will be taught to coach and will receive practical experience and the opportunity to apply for a coaching exam.

The successful candidate will be signed up with Haddon training to complete a years apprenticeship resulting in a recognised equine qualification. Training will also be provided by experienced professionals from Haddon.

The ideal candidate is between 16 -18yrs age, highly self motivated, takes pride in their work and is extremely reliable.
Candidates must have either already obtained their BHS stage 1 or be of a level capable of passing this assessment.

This is the perfect role for anyone looking to combine practical experience, in an established equine business, alongside a recognised qualification.
