All set up at Pontypool Spooktacular! 🎃

The event is on until 4pm today, with lots of free things for families going on, and loooads of amazing stalls to see!

We do have some news however, this will be our last market 😞 Since closing the shop, the markets have been dwindling more and more for us, and with both of us working full time in very intense jobs, we just feel now is the right time to come to a close.

So, on that note! We have 25% off all grooming items at the stall, so come and get your smellies and stock up on treats!🐾

We're so very, very excited for this sunday!

Goytre is just beautiful and we love this event, so please pop along and have a look at the 80 stalls, live music, and stop off in the cafe when you're done too.

It is however, looking very hot still for Sunday, so please, please, please be responsible with your dogs. As much as we love seeing them, this is one time where we'd much prefer to NOT see them as it's going to be so hot! Leave them at home in the cool with lots of water and they can literally chill out whilst you come down and have a browse, and not have to worry if they're overheating!

We are back at it tomorrow!

Back in Pontypool for the monthly artisan Market, after having the last one off.

We'll have our usual delicious natural treats and chews, including our mix and match 3 for £1.50 jars as well as Lickimats.

The market is on 10am to 3pm tomorrow and its 1 whole year since the Artisan markets started; where has that time gone?!!

Thank you for bearing with us whilst we took a much, much needed break for the last couple of weeks of July and throughout August. After the market tomorrow, we'll update the stock on the website with what was sold at the market and then the website will be back up and running for you to order online for postage, click and collect and deliveries as usual 😊

I'm looking for recommendations for a dog sitter (to stay at our house) from early afternoon of Friday 22nd September to around 7am of Sunday 1st October

4 dogs aged 1 - 12 in Pontypool. Preferably someone who can drive who can take them to a secure field (which we would pay for).

We did have a sitter but it fell through, hence my last minute panic postings everywhere to find someone 😅

Officially opens at 11am but there's people wandering around the stalls already. Closes at 5pm!

There's loads of lovely independent stalls, craft and food ones.

We are down by the inflatables, on the corner. There's loads on all day, and we are all hoping the rain stays off. Either way, it's going to be a busy day 😍

It's only 2 days until Pontypool Party in The Park 🏞

Last year was a great day, so we've got fingers crossed that this year will be the same and the weather will be nice 🤞

After this event, we are going to be taking an extended break, for at least the rest of July and August.

We're both just frazzled and a bit burnt out; we both work full time, I'm a dog trainer on weekends, I'm so far behind on my studies, and Harry with his writing, and that's even before looking into the agility we do with the boys, long walks with the dogs, or even just sitting down and doing nothing and having a rest 😅

So we've decided we're just going to take this time off to just catch our breath, catch up on studies and life, and have a bit of a reset.

That means, Saturday will be the last chance to stock up on any treats for at least July and August, as we are taking a full break; so no markets, no deliveries, no postage, nothing online.

So, fingers crossed for a good day Saturday, and we hope you understand that we just need a bit of a break ❤️

Today is National Pet Remembrance Day 🌈

We remember Pete every single day; I have his paw print tattooed on me, I wear a necklace with some of his fur every day, but we'll use today as a special reminder of this gorgeous little boy.

His favourite thing was to carry everything and anything, as you'll see in the photos!

It's strange to think that so many of you wouldn't have met him in the shop. For those of you that did, and used to stop by the shop JUST to see him, you'll know what an amazing little chap he was ❤️

Just sent this little monsters DNA test off! In a couple of weeks, we'll find out what he is!

Anyone want to place your bets now on what breed or breed you think? I've put a few photos in to try and show how tall and leggy but also long he is, so we definitely think more than just chihuahua!

It's interesting to find out what breed our dogs are, as whilst it makes no difference in terms of how much we love them, it does make a difference in the way that every breed will have different desires, and helping our dogs with breed appropriate outlets is extremely beneficial!

We've gone for the Premium kit this time with Mouse, which will also show if there are any of his relatives in their system too. As Mouse was found as a stray at approximately 8 weeks old, we have no idea where he came from, what he is, what his birthday is (so it's a guess at 8 weeks prior to when he was found, which makes it the 1st July, so this weekend!). Imagine if we find any of his siblings, and can then find out his birthday (and maybe also the 'breeder' who dumped him on the streets 🙃)

We will post when we get his results, but in the meantime, post your guesses below and we'll see in a couple of weeks if anyone got it 100% right! Bonus points if anyone gets the breeds and percentages right, too!

All set up at Pontypool Relay for Life! 🐾🏃‍♀️

We're on the end of the back row, so make sure to visit all of the stalls on the way around!

We've got lots of yummy natural treats available, a few enrichment items and some of our KONG stock too!

The event officially opens at 10 and finishes at 4 for the stalls. It's currently nice and cool but the sun is starting to peep out so please, please, please be responsible with bringing your dogs out and keep them at home if they won't cope with the heat, all the people and all the dogs. The dog show is on at 2pm so hopefully it's cool then 🤞

There's a raffle today too for the event, and we've given a bundle of treats and chews so make sure to enter!

We are here tomorrow! 🐾

It's supposed to be cooler tomorrow, hopefully 😬

The stalls are there 10am to 4pm, but there's lots on all day for the 24 hours 😊

If it's cooled down and your dogs can manage in the heat, we would love to see you! There's a dog show at 2pm, so I really hope it is cooler as it's far too hot currently 😞

We've had a stock up after last week's event wiped us out, but unfortunately there are a few things we're still out of stock of unfortunately, but the important main things are back in!

Woweeee! What a day! 😱

That was an absolutely incredible day - our best and busiest ever by an absolute long shot.

An absolute huge thank you to Kat & Mel from Torfaen & Gwent Small Business Markets for organising the traders for today ❤️

And a huge thank you to each and every single person who stopped by the stall today! Whether it was for dog treats or a chat, it was lovely to see so many of you 🥰 Thank you so much for supporting our little business, we really appreciate it and you all!

We are well and truly pooped now, so are going to shovel a delicious dinner from Good Guys Food in our mouths (they are amazing, go and check them out immediately!), and probably fall asleep in our dinner - it's been that sort of day!

You guys were non stop from 10am (bearing in mind it didn't officially open until 12!)

Enrichment doesn't need to be expensive! Whilst I do get irrationally excited over a snazzy enrichment toy, using crap from around the house works just as well. A short box that some Xmas food got delivered in, wrapping paper that would otherwise have ended up in the bin (any sellotape bits have been removed) and an amalgamation of bits of treats; some Pate, bottom of the bag Sprats, training treat dust, plus a couple of crunchy treats Mouse is happily snuffling away whilst the big dogs have a big chew on a Hairy lamb ear stick, and I actually get a little tiny bit of peace 🤣

Mouse enjoying a nice little snuffle on his early Christmas present carrot snuffle! 🥕 Mouse rarely actually sniffs when out and about, he's quite worried, so alongside helping him with confidence building, we're giving him lots of outlets to safely sniff where he feels the most confident. Sniffing is a great way to help calm dogs, and not only that, it tires them out too! The part of the dogs brain that processes scents is 40 times the size of ours, so all of that brain power helps mentally tire them out too; and with a 5 month old puppy alongside our 3 adult dogs, I'll take all the calm moments I can 🤣 Mouse's snuffle mat is packed with crumbled up Sprats from The Snack Pawtal and mini Buffalo Bites from Green & Wilds (which despite being mini, were still too big for him as he's so small, bless him!) All of these, along with the snuffle carrot (plus snuffle parsnip, and snuffle Christmas pudding) are available on our website, in store or at events. We are back open today! And we're as excited as Willow is about her braided Lamb treat 😂 We're open 10-1, 2-5. Back to normal hours from now on, and normal delivery and posting times! So it's a delivery evening today, order by 3pm and its free delivery within 15 miles on orders over £20 I'm also reluctantly taking down the Christmas window display today, I've enjoyed having the Christmas lights up and don't want to take them down 😩 Who's still got their decorations up at home? Just 1 more sleep until we're back open! 😍 I'm so excited to be out of isolation, and get back in to the shop! 😁 We've had a not great last month or so, with losing Pete and then getting covid, so thank you so much for being so patient and understanding when the shop has been closed quite a bit in the last month. It's not been ideal for us being shut either so I can assure you we are happy to be back to being reliably open as normal! 😁 Having said that, just a reminder that Thursday we are just open 9am to 1pm, as it's our first day out of isolation and the girls need a nice big walk and we've got bits we need to get that we couldn't during isolation! So we're open 9am to 1pm Thursday, and then opening early Friday and Saturday 9am to 5pm to try and make up for being closed. As you can see in the video, there's loads of Christmas things available, hundreds of natural treats and loads more to see! Little fun fact of the day! The paw print stamp we put on each of the handwritten Thank You cards that go out with every order, is actually Pete's paw print! It's not just a random paw print, we had a stamp made up taken from a print of his paw 😍 Cheeky Little Prints and Gifts - Silver Paw Print Jewellery make lots of amazing stuff, including these paw stamps. I know this just seems like 30 seconds of me feeding Willow training treats and Pate, but what it actually is, is a 30 second video of a huge change for us! 😍 What you can't see in the video, is that there are 6 other dogs in the field. Yup, reactive dog Willow is lying down, being calm (calm for Willow anyway!) whilst there are 6 other dogs about! 😱 We had a session last night with our amazing behaviourist Kahla at Valleys Dog Behaviour And Training with a group of other reactive dogs that was perfectly managed for each individual dogs needs Last night was the first time in years and years that Willow has just led down and just chilled a bit, whilst outside. Let alone the fact that there were 6 other dogs around!
