The hot weather can be a challenging time to walk dogs. Unlike humans, dogs can only sweat through their footpads and cool themselves by panting. Soaring temperatures can cause heat stress and be physically damaging or fatal. Pavements can often be deceptively hot, and if it’s too hot for the back of your hand for 10 seconds, it’s too hot for your dogs paws.
We will spend the time in a shady garden or inside with plenty of water, or/and walk your dog later in the afternoon/evening when it has cooled down. (Subject to availability)

Mabel has come along way since I first met her. She is a rescue and can be very nervous around people and other dogs. It has taken some time to build our bond and for her to trust me but it has been very rewarding to see her gradually warm to me and trust me. She is now happy to go out for a walk with me and play. Her owners and myself have achieved this by myself walking her once per week even when I wasn’t needed. This is so important so we can build a bond. I now care for Mabel when the owners need me which is making our bond stronger. #redwelliespetcare only looks after #pets on a #solo basis which doesn’t just give the pet 100% of our attention but also is ideal for the more nervous pet.
