Happy Christmas Eve to all of our fabulous furry (and feathery and scaly!) friends and their people. We wish you all a very merry festive period, and whilst we hope you don't need our help over the next few weeks, if you do need anything our opening hours are as follows:

Dec 24th open until 4pm
Dec 25th - 28th closed
Dec 29th open as usual
Dec 30th - Jan 1st closed
Jan 2nd open as usual

The natterjacks clinics are open as usual other than the bank holidays and Saturday 27th if you need help and we are unavailable. Our out of hours service at vets now in wimborne can be contacted on 01202 859933 for any emergencies or urgent issues at any point we are both closed.

We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, and thank you all for a great 2025.

Age isn’t the problem - pain is.

🐾 How fabulous is Freddie?!

At 17 years young, Freddie is still full of beans! With slightly high blood pressure and the odd creak here and there, most of us can empathise with his age related issues 🫠

Happily Freddie is doing really well with daily medication and regular health checks - and we’re sure he could teach some of our youngsters a thing or two about living life to the full 🥰

🐾 Koko and Mocha 🐾

We started visiting the lovely Koko earlier this year when his mobility began to deteriorate, and have since seen him monthly for pain management. We're so pleased at how well he is doing now, and its really lovely to be greeted so enthusiastically by both Koko and his companion Mocha when we visit! 🥰🥰

We'd love to pretend that Koko is looking adoringly at us in these photos, but we're willing to accept that the tennis ball might rank just slightly above us on his list of favourite things! 🤣🥎

Avian Influenza update:

From 00:01 on Thursday 6 November, mandatory captive bird housing measures will be extended to the whole of England.

You will have to house your birds in England if you keep either:
🐧 more than 50 birds of any species – including poultry and other captive birds
🐦 any number of poultry

Poultry are birds that are kept to give away or sell:
🥚eggs
🥚poultry products
🥚live birds

You do not have to house your birds if you keep less than 50 birds and their eggs or poultry products are for your own use only.

Over the next few days, as firework season starts with a bang, don’t forget that outdoor pets may need a bit of extra support too.

As prey species, rabbits, guinea pigs and other small animals need to be able to tuck themselves away somewhere which feels safe and secure if they’re feeling worried.

At Vets2You, we’re a small team of three vets and three nurses - all of us very passionate about providing fantastic care to our patients in the comfort of their own homes.

Most of us will be familiar faces to you all, whilst others are (slightly) more recent additions.

Last but not least, is Sarah 🤩

Sarah graduated from the Royal Veterinary college in 2010 and joined the Vets2You team in 2017.

She has a post-graduate certificate and special interest in our more unusual pet species, including reptiles, birds and small mammals (though she also loves seeing all our regular cat and dog patients too!) 🐓🦎🐹

In recent years Sarah has also spent time working with native British wildlife and in a zoo! 🦓 🦍

Sarah enjoys all aspects of visiting patients at home as part of the Vets2You team, and is particularly passionate keeping our older patients comfortable in their golden years 💛
