Artie, Lucy, Billy and Chas have been going to K9Woods Dog Park where they can have a good run off the lead in a safe enviroment. They absolutely love it there and come back tired and happy. I cannot recommend this place more . Everything has been thought off that you and your dogs could need . It is a half acre woodland site completely enclosed and safe . It is local and easy to get to and find. In the Summer it is a cool place for dogs to exercise on those very hot days. The Dawgdogs love it there .

Sam and Missy taking more of a slow amble round the dog park than Rover who goes full out
I took some of the Dawgdogs to the K9Woods Dog Park. Rover loves following the smells there, which also keeps his mind as well as his body busy. Plenty of smells for him to track. Sam and Missy took more of a slow amble around.
I am very impressed by this place. It is large and woodland and everything that could possibly be needed is thought of. Toys for the dogs, shelters, seats, large bottles of water, bowls, bin bag holders all around the fences, a bin for the poop and even an umbrella on the gate. Thank you Courtney for always being so helpful and finding a free slot for us.

Five more of the cubs went to the indoor pen today . They spent a lot of time exploring their new surroundings . They will stay here for a two to three weeks until they go to a release pen .
We desperately need sites to have a release pen . These need to be in an area or on a property that is secure and where we know they can be released safely . If you think you can help with this please phone the rescue on 01202 380467 and leave a message if no one answers . We will get back to you .
Ivy and Daffy as they have been named we had a call on Sunday about . A man walking his dog had found one of them on a wooded pathway . She was very cold and still . He took her home, warmed her up and phoned us . He went back a while later to check no others and found another one . We went out to see if we could find the earth to ascertain if they could abandoned or whether something had happened to Mum . They are only approx two and half to three weeks old . They were thin and dehydrated when picked up but are now gaining weight.
If something happens to Mum very small cubs will after several hours start to wriggle out of the earth looking for her
These cubs came into us at three weeks old as a family group. They had been on there own for two days calling for their parents so we knew something had happened to Mum and no dog fox around to continue providing food . They were a little thin and dehydrated when collected . As nothing else wrong with them and in a family group we didn’t need to handle them. As soon as they were old enough we introduced them to the indoor pen . When the temperature at night doesn’t drop so drastically they will be off to the release pen . Later in the summer the door will be opened for them to go . They will be support fed for a few weeks .
Ivy was handed in at nearly 8 weeks old . She had been found when her eyes and ears were nearly open and the person kept her for several weeks . We had to scare her away until she learnt humans are not to be trusted . As all the cubs here are too young to form a group with her, she will be going to anther rescue to mix with a cub of the same age . This is Ivy last week investigating her new surroundings .
Please if you find a cub do not keep them , hand them into a rescue and we will check the area to be sure there are no others and will try to reunite with their Mum . If this is not possible we will keep them and mix with cubs if the same age to form a group ready for release later in the year .
The noise you here in the background is normal cub noises from the others. This is Oak who is playing with his first toy
I thought it was time to post three of the foxes that are with us at the moment . We are receiving many calls about injured foxes who most of have sadly been put to sleep. Their injuries were too terrible for them to recover from. This is never easy to do but sadly has to be done.
Snappy was caught at the end of December. She was in a weak state and coughing badly. She had either a very bronchial infection or Lungworm. She had an antibiotic injection and was treated for Lungworm . A couple of weeks later another course of antibiotics and a seven days of Panacur followed. A couple of weeks later another spot on treatment for Lungworm. She is now cough free and looking much better, far more relaxed and eating well.
