When I needed a cover for my book 'It Started With A Sit', I first hired a lady to design it... however her style wasn't my thing.

Then I went back to my husband Gary J Lucken and nagged him immensely to design the cover for me... which he luckily did, because AI generated the weirdest of covers!!!

Not only it didn't get the title right (and, yes, I did send it correctly!), but... what the heck is that image??? What's going on with that baby?? And the puppy/dog? I don't even know where to start!!

Still, it did give me a good laugh, so I thought I'd share it with you!! 😂

My book is available on Amazon worldwide 🌍

Good morning!

Today there’s an article on the Daily Mail about dog-related incidents, in which I am featured along side other experts.

While I think too much attention is given to a specific breed of dogs, the article also shows my views and mentions the campaign I am part of, managed by Marc the Vet & Hannah Molloy (The Dog Bite Problem UK hosted by Apdawg).

The dog bite problem isn’t going to be solve quickly, nor will it be solved by changing one element that might cause it. It is a matter of working together to put the various solutions we discussed at Parliament in June together and get it done!!

As KAD, having our pros out there helping families, educating kids, doing school interventions, we are working hard to do our part, but we all need to do more and rhe government needs to listen to all the solutions and step up.

Yes, indeed: you can give ice cubes to your doggies!!

Here’s a great post from our lovely KAD Kids Around Dogs Approved professional Freya Locke from Locke's Dogs - Behaviourist & Trainer / Fun Not Fear Club on this topic!!

❤️

There are many misconceptions about whether or not giving a dog ice will send them into shock if they are very hot.

They will not go into shock from eating ice. Not even if they have heatstroke.

They will not cool down much either, and the ice may mean they drink less than they otherwise would have.

Feel free to give your dogs ice cubes and frozen treats, but do not make it the only way of cooling them down.

Today is the big day... Part 3 of the APDAWG The Dog Bite Problem is on this evening at Westminster!

I feel honoured to be able to talk and present our part of the solutions and I am really looking forward to all the other talks too.

Here is the latest article from the Daily Mirror with an interview with Emma Whitfield, Jack Lis' mum and where MP Wayne David and myself are also featured.

I will be reporting back...

Pocodogs Academy - Debby Lucken

My name is Debby Lucken, I’m an award winner (Animal Star Award, Best Animal Educator - highly commended - 2019). I’m based in Poole, Dorset and I offer dog training sessions using positive, modern and ethical dog training methods. I am a family dog trainer, which means I specialize in helping families with children to train their dogs in a busy family environment.

My incredibly strong love for dogs lead me to become a dog walker and dog boarder first, to then realize I wanted to learn more about our furry companions. I qualified as a dog trainer with the IMDT in London, under the expert guidance of Top Dog Trainer and Behaviourist, Steve Mann. I am part of both the Pet Professional Guild and International Companion Animal Network (ICAN), which promote force-free training, making sure dogs are positively trained. I am studying at the International School for Canine Psychology and Behaviour (ISCP) and Canine Principle. I am also an OCN externally accredited dog trainer.

I am fully insured, DBS checked and committed to continue my professional development, by keeping up to date with the latest discoveries on dog psychology and methodology, which is why I regularly attend classes, seminars and conference on dog training and behaviours delivered by the best in the field, such as Victoria Stilwell, Dr. Ian Dunbar, Dave Brice, Dr. Hare (Duke University); Linda P. Case; Lisa Tenzin-Dolma; Sarah Whitehead and Steve Mann.
