Truth be told, the pet industry doesn’t often get much representation at events like this, and none at this one, so we’re not holding our breath for the award, but here’s hoping ! 🐾

Did you know that we run the ONLY hands on practical and fully Ofqual certified Dog Walking and Pet Sitting Qualification in Scotland? You may see dog walkers or pet sitters stating they have a diploma however there are no Ofqual regulated diplomas. These are usually online courses which have no practical element. Our iPET Level 3 Award in Dog Walking and Pet Sitting for Professionals an award designed for individuals looking to start or improve a career in dog walking or pet sitting. Suitable for beginners and professionals, it combines practical skills with theoretical knowledge to prepare learners for working professionally and safely in the pet care industry whilst ensuring you know your legal responsibilities.

This Level 3 qualification can be covered in 2 days at your location and remotely for theory work

Following completion of this qualification, a student will:

-Know and understand the policies and procedures that need to be put in place prior to setting up a dog walking and pet sitting business.
- Know and understand client requirements and requests when carrying out dog walking and pet sitting services.
- Know and understand how to minimise risks when lone working as a dog walker or pet sitter.
- Know and understand the requirements of current legislation and codes of practice for dog walking and pet sitting including transporting animals.
- Know and understand a variety of breeds and behaviours typical to their breed group
- Be able to observe and record behaviour demonstrated by a dog, when working as a dog walker or pet sitter.
- Know and understand how to walk and control a dog as-well as be able to carry out effective dog walking activities.
