Alpha Dog Walks Alpha Dog Walks provides Dog Walking, Pet Sitting and Dog Home Boarding Services. We are based in Portlethen, Aberdeenshire.

Alpha Dog Walks is run by Nicola & Neil Garrett. Our aim is to provide a professional and reliable pet care service, individual to our customers needs. We will be there to keep your pet happy when you are unable due to work, illness, holidays or other commitments. We treat your pet like one of our own. We are fully insured, experienced and have excellent references available.

We have big plans for 2025. This begins with us now offering a Home Boarding service. Dogs live with us in our home during their stay and attend our group walks during the day (where appropriate).
Dogs are required to stay for a one night trial prior to their first holiday, to ensure they will settle with us.

Got some great news yesterday about Toby. After a week of no platelets in his blood, the steroids are now working and his levels are almost normal. He's not out of the woods yet, and will be a few months of medication and regular blood tests, but things are going in the right direction. He's even allowed a 5 minute on lead walk each day!! 🐾🥰 xx

Hope everyone has enjoyed the Festive break. We are looking forward to seeing the dogs back on walks next week, with a few new pups joining us 🐾 and Nicola returning to dog walking too.

It has been a quiet start to the new year for us as our Toby pup is very poorly with IMTP, which is a blood disease. Fingers crossed that the medication starts working soon. He's not letting it get him down and goes into the vets tail wagging to get his bloods taken. The best boy 🥰.

Apologies to anyone who's messaged in the last few days, I will catch up with replies tonight xx

CUSTOMER NOTICE

Can we ask all customers to be extra vigilant with there dogs just now as Kennel Cough is doing the rounds! It is highly infectious so please do not send your dog to walks if showing any symptoms. Thank you.

The main symptom is the cough, which is often described as a 'hacking cough'. It may sound like your dog is trying to clear something stuck in their throat or retching. Occasionally they may also cough up frothy white phlegm. Some dogs will also have a runny nose, eye discharge and be a bit sneezy.

We were delighted today to see a Red Kite fly over the dog walking field. By the time I got my phone out it had soared up really high, but hopefully you can still make it out in the video. We see Buzzards most days, but this is the first time for a Red Kite (Red Kites can easily be identified by their forked tail). 🪶❤️ xx
