Not a talent! More like a passion and science base knowledge🐶✨ Helping pet guardians connect with their dogs by understanding the dog behaviour, body language and needs is what I do best.

Social media can be a wonderful platform for connecting and receiving support, but it can also be a breeding ground for judgment and criticism. Unfortunately, we have encountered numerous comments labeling Zach as a killer, vicious, and dangerous (I didn’t share it because it hurts to much) We want to set the record straight - Zach is not a dangerous dog. He developed fear-based reactivity after being attacked by an off-leash dog. We have dedicated countless hours to building his confidence, and now he possesses the skills to remove himself from uncomfortable situations without resorting to aggression. That is why he no longer wears a muzzle.Addressing the comments suggesting that I should stand in front or keep walking to advocate for him, it’s important to acknowledge that every dog is different. While that approach may work for many dogs, it actually increases Zach’s nervousness and likelihood to react. The best way to advocate for him is to allow him to be in front of me while providing verbal reassurance. To those who claim that we are the problem for walking a reactive dog in an area where dogs can be off-leash, it is incredibly unfair. Zach is on a leash and under control. Just because an area allows dogs to be off-leash doesn’t mean they have to be. If you struggle with recalling your dog, consider using a training leash and practicing recall. It is disheartening to see that these comments predominantly come from dog owners and self-proclaimed dog trainers. It only exacerbates the situation, as it suggests a lack of understanding about dog needs and body language. Let us all strive to be more mindful and empathetic towards our dogs. They rely on us to create a safe and understanding environment.#zach #rommierescue #anatolianshepherd #reactivedog #reactivedogsaregooddogstoo #reactivedogsunite #reactivedogsofinstagram #yellowdog #empathy #understanding #bekind #dontjudge #dogsofinstagram #dogbodylanguage #mentalhealthmattersfordogstoo
Zach handled this situation like a true champion! We’ve encountered plenty off-leash dogs running up to us, but never this intense. Their behavior was completely unacceptable and posed a threat to any dog, especially those on a leash. I couldn’t be prouder of Zachy boy for staying strong and responding calmly. Please, please, please, if your dogs tend to rush up to other dogs and you can’t control them, keep them on a leash for their own safety and the safety of others. Let’s be kind and respectful of each other’s spaces. Situations like this can be a major setback for fearful and reactive dogs. 🐾💛#zach #rommierescue #anatolianshepherd #reactivedog #reactivedogtraining #reactivedogsunite #reactivedogsaregooddogstoo #reactivedogs #reactivedogsofinstagram #yellowdog #yellowdogproject
Recently, we’ve been receiving many inquiries about how we’ve helped Zach reach a point where he not only tolerates but also enjoys playing with other dogs. Our journey towards reducing reactivity started two years ago, and since then, we have been diligently working on various aspects. We engage in enrichment activities, train Zach with tricks, practice counter conditioning, explore new scents during car rides, and prioritize quality sleep and a healthy fresh diet. We are immensely grateful to @r.plus.dogs for the invaluable support and guidance. If you have a reactive dog, Renee is the person to turn to for assistance. #reactivityjourney #zach #rommierescue #anatolianshepherd #reactivedogs #reactivedogsaregooddogstoo #reactivedogsunite #reactivedogsuk #reactivedogsuccess #healthylifestyle
In the world of dog guardianship, there are two distinct types of guardians: the responsible ones and the neglectful ones. The responsible guardians prioritize the well-being and comfort of all dogs by ensuring everyone safety. On the other hand, the neglectful guardians disregard the needs and boundaries of other dogs, showing a lack of care and respect.
It is important to be aware of these differences and strive to be a responsible and considerate dog guardian.
FYI - Before you judge and offer advice on why I didn’t step in front of my dog to block the spaniel that made Zach nervous

🐾🚫 Why Dog Parks Aren’t Ideal for Socialization 🚫🐾
🐾 Lack of Control: Dog parks can be unpredictable, with dogs of various sizes, temperaments, and play styles all in one place. This lack of control can create stressful situations for both dogs and their guardians, potentially leading to negative experiences and hindering the socialization process.
🐾 Overwhelm and Anxiety: Some dogs may become overwhelmed or anxious in the high-energy, crowded environment of a dog park. This can make it difficult for them to learn and adapt to new social situations in a positive way. It’s important to consider each dog’s unique needs and comfort levels when it comes to socialization.
🐾 Negative Interactions: Unfortunately, not all dogs at the park are comfortable in that situation. This can result in negative interactions, such as aggression, which can have a lasting impact on a dog’s socialization journey. It’s crucial to prioritize positive experiences to build confidence and trust.
🧠 Remember, the key to successful socialization is creating positive experiences for our dogs. By prioritizing controlled environments, exposure to new places, smells, compatible playmates, parallel walks and professional guidance, we can help our dogs develop the necessary social skills and confidence to thrive in various social situations. 🐾❤️

🐾🌟 So proud of this boy today 🌟🐾
It’s moments like these that fill my heart with joy and pride. Today, this boy showed incredible self-control when faced with a trigger. Seeing him remain calm and composed and resisting the urge to react.
Reactivity is not an easy journey, but moments like this remind me that every step forward is worth celebrating.
To all the pet guardians out there dealing with reactive dogs, remember that progress takes time and patience. It’s not always a smooth road, but the small victories along the way make it all worthwhile. Keep believing and don’t forget to celebrate their milestones, no matter how small they may seem.
