Rachel has also studied 2 years with International Cat Care, for a feline behaviour qualification to help her clients and their cats with challenging behavioural issues. WARNING

One of our team had a very nasty scare recently with one of her cats.
We have always been aware that lilies are poisonous to cats but didn’t realise just how much. The centre of the plant, the pistil, is extremely dangerous while other parts: stem, leaves, petals are also toxic but we were unaware that the water they are placed in becomes contaminated.

It took just a few licks from the vase but it was enough. The cat needed to be rushed to the emergency vet and was hospitalised on a drip for quite a few days. Although now well on the way to recovery even after 3 weeks they are still not fully back to normal but it has been a traumatic and emotional time not to mention expensive.

With Christmas coming up there will be a lot of flowers being given as gifts so please keep this in mind that if you have lilies about the home they are highly toxic to cats which can lead to organ failure and even death.
