Aaah congratulations to the Fleming family who have all worked together to train little Ivy and her sister Coco. Ivy is the first to pass Bronze and we are very impressed how hard these humans work; we’ve had sweat and we’ve had tears and now we’ve had celebrations. And once at 7am in the morning working on loose lead walking along Copnor Rd! That’s dedication for you and shown by passing Silver. Mega congratulations to Chad and Navi for passing the Silver award!! I love the dedication to training that Chad has, always asking questions, trying out new ideas, persevering when encountering problems absolutely nailing each of the exercises to perfection! Sooo proud of these two and can’t wait to teach them Gold level; oh yes, I’ve kind of been a pushy trainer and got them doing some sneaky Gold stuff already 😁👍🐾💛

We use fun motivational positive methods to teach such exercises as walking nicely on a lead; stand, sit and down positions on cue; leave food/items off the floor; stay in one place; settle on a bed/mat; socialisation and manners around food and people plus much more. The courses are 6 weeks long and once passing Foundation, everyone is welcome to continue in the higher levels. With continued CPD for our Instructors, we are able to pass on our wealth of experience and new ideas.

Fantastic news this week! Bradley and Sophie with the beautiful Juno passed GOLD!!! It’s certainly not an easy ride getting to Gold level and then to pass it is an amazing achievement! There are good days in class and bad days but with determination, lots of practice at home, and mainly lots of fun along the way, it can be definitely be done. All of the training we do with you as you progress through the levels can set you and your dog up for a happy life together as well as being a door opener to many dog sports. Sophie and Bradley had many evenings with us when Juno could be very norty but also when things clicked for both them and Juno, there were smiles all around. We are very very pleased that they have achieved their Gold award and it is very much deserved! I am especially looking forward to them carrying on and being able to teach them even more advanced doggy training 😁🥳🐾🏅
It was Road walk week for our Pup/Foundation classes so we took what we learned in the hall to the big outside 😁👍🐾

For anyone that doesn’t know about paw paddocks. There are quite a few in the area and are brilliant places to start off lead training and have great fun with young dogs, rescue dogs, reactive dogs, in fact all dogs as they are secure and safe. Many have shelters for humans in case of bad weather / hot weather and apparatus for dogs to climb on and through. Would thoroughly recommend! Generally they are booked in advance on the websites so if you feel that it would be useful for your dogs, then take a look. I am always recommending to my clients who are worried about recall especially as it’s a great place to start!!

Our yearly Pumpkin Challenge for Halloween! All of our classes take part and many dogs come in their Halloween outfits and their owners too! This is a great exercise to introduce shaping and what can be achieved. Thank you everyone for giving it a go and joining in the fun addition to our lesson plans this evening 🎃
Some of our latest puppies to complete the Pup/Foundation course. Well done all! Some are coming back to continue training at Bronze level, some are happy with their achievements and what they have learned, and some go away and practice what they now know and may come back again later. Whatever they do, they are all part of the AMCBT and we wish them all the best and we are always here to help and advise 🐾

Last week our very own Amy and her little Suki, passed their Silver award!! 😁 It’s not easy being a Trainee Instructor and feeling the pressure to pass each level and I’ve seen first hand how disappointed Amy is at times when she has practised and practised and then Suki doesn’t make the grade. But hard work and perseverance does pay off and I am very proud of them. Never give up…….take your time, there is no rush, and you’ll get there in the end but most importantly it’s the journey that counts 😊. Good luck in Gold Amy and Suki 😁🐾👍
