Hi all
I am off on hols this Sunday 3rd with the dogs for 2 weeks and won’t be back until week beginning 18th

I saved some space this week for some last min grooming, I have 1 or 2 left for those that can’t wait so please shout at me if it’s time!

This by far one of the ugliest trims I have ever done, also one of the nicest, beautifully natured, matted dogs I’ve ever put hands on. AND I absolutely loved it! But it’s not something my equipment or I would like to do regularly. This dog felt so much better once all the static and sharp tight matts had been removed. He was wearing one big hot itchy jumper that he couldn’t itch. A big tyre of hair around his neck, no cool air could flow across the skin. But to touch yes he was and looked very soft something only a comb could tell.
The Old English sheepdog is a fantastic breed of dog but a lot of work, with a lot of under coat
We fixed him and also fixed a plan to never fix him again ✍🏻🧼🤿❌😍🐾 🐶

Undercoat rake ✔️
= you cannot go wrong if you brush for a few mins a day esp after a walk

I only have one hand strip spaniel (that I adore😍) for a reason 🏃‍♀️ 😂🤩 it’s like a classic car, they take maintenance and due care and attention.
Well basil is like my classic car in terms of dog, him along with the bedlingtons are my chosen classics. I love to study and learn how to perfect the trim according to the breed standard and spot different things every time that I would like to improve.
This is a pure breed dog, an English cocker spaniel…. How they look according to kennel club breed standard. There is history in this trim going back hundreds of years and I’m so privileged to get to play with one!
Our lives today just don’t accommodate for a coat like this. I get to groom this beautiful dog and hand him back! Perfect 😂
Every dead hair is pulled from the coat by hand focusing on the body and tidying the furnishing with scissors. Dead hair does not hurt when brushed or pulled out as it’s purely held in by friction. If your handsteip hurts your doing it wrong.
No corners on a cocker and everything should be soft and flowing.
4 weekly grooming
Home maintenance is a must and after every walk 🥱🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️👌😁
