🏆Well done Lisa and Raven. Another Distinction in the Novice Petgundog Assessment 💪🏼.

✅Raven is a challenging and high drive springer. Lisa has done really well to channel her focus on her so they work well as a team.

💪🏼They are also mastering their hunting lessons very well too. It’s all coming together nicely.

Well done Lou/Chris and Paddy who is one of our pups. Paddy has a high drive for retrieve and hunting but you need to be on it to control it and get him to work for you!

These guys have showed dedication and commitment to make Paddy have his best life and today achieve a Distinction in the beginner Petgundog assessment.

Onwards and upwards to the next level and hopefully working tests next year 🤞

✅If your dog can’t sit then you can’t do sit holds.

✅Sit holds can be used when correcting delivery issues.

✅Sit holds can get your dog engaged and not distracted with its environment!

✅Spaniels have been bred for centuries to hunt close to handlers and flush game within gunshot range!

✅Spaniels have been bred to have drive to find game!

✅Spaniels should be busy and have pace!

⚠️If you don’t recognise the above then your spaniel will use its drive,pace and instincts to find game on its own and also to get away from you!

⚠️This will trigger an adrenaline rush and self reward if your dog flushed game hundreds of metres away from you. Especially if you have no obedience or stop whistle!

💪🏼High drive dogs under control working as a team =🏆

❌High drive dogs self employed and too much freedom = ☠️dog potentially!

✅Understand your dogs breeding and learn how to harness it and use it to steer and control your Ferrari on legs!
