Meet Igor! He's a cheeky young Sphynx! He loved playing fetch, running around, knocking things off the window sill, raiding the kitchen cupboards, dreamies, climbing on my shoulders, and more. Similar to my cats, but naked! 🤣 He let me take his jumper off when I arrived. When I put it back on, he became the cutest cuddly, purry boy, and it was hard to leave.

Edwin is a very special cat. He's very wobbly on his hips/hind legs and needs lots of care. He greets me at the door and manages to walk to the kitchen. He loves treats, meowing (yelling at me for more sticks) and let me dry shampoo him. He's lovely and even left me a note and a candle from

Wiggy and I attended the animal communication course as Guest Teacher. Wiggy was very shouty when we arrived, but as soon as I took him out of the carrier, he was super purry and happy to sit on my lap while the class practised communicating. After a while, he started climbing over my shoulder to explore. He was happy to be there. There was also a dog and an armadillo!

Meet Dotty, she was a most difficult house cat. First she hid in a spotty chair so I couldn't find her for ages. I panicked and had to call the owner in case she'd escaped. Then she knocked me over and put my head in her mouth. I could hardly carry her dinner. I need a rest. Good job she's cute!

Meet Thorin! He was very shy at first and hid. It didn't take very long for him to gain confidence. He loved treats and playing so he was soon yelling at me to play with his fishing rod toy. He's a big softy, we had nice cuddles and he even liked belly rubs. 😍😻

LOST CATS & MICROCHIPS
(Once again apologies for length of post)

Last year when microchipping cats became a legal requirement of ownership we were delighted. Reuniting a lost cat was going to be so much easier. All we needed to do was scan the cat, find the number, check who the registered owner is and contact them. The cat could be safely back home within a few hours. Result: overjoyed owners, relieved cat and a pat on the back for us.

Exactly a year today the legislation meant everyone had until 10th June 2024 to comply but sadly very little has changed, we still have the same problems. Despite most cats now being microchipped we regularly find the details have either not been registered or are no longer correct. This means a lot of detective work for us and if that fails we put a post out.

Whenever we post a lost or stray cat it is always in the hope they will be recognised and reunited with their owner. Sometimes we are successful but sadly after a little research and a few checks, it occasionally becomes clear that we need to explain it is a case of mistaken identity.

Unfortunately, we are frequently having people who are so convinced the cat posted is theirs that no amount of evidence or reasoning can persuade them otherwise (on one occasion we had 6 different people all insisting the same cat was, without any shadow of a doubt, theirs). We then have to endure a barrage of abuse and expletives together with threats of violence and/or legal action.
We dread every time we post a misplaced cat.

So many owners still do not realise it is their responsibility to contact the microchip company to register their details and to keep those details up to date. It is also a good idea to keep a record of the microchip number.

Please, please, always keep your cat safe and their records fully up to date.

NB. Owners whose cat has still not been microchipped by 10th June this year could face a fine of up to £500.

It's National Love your pet day. I don't get it. I love your pets every day. 😻. I also love mine even if they look a bit crazy sometimes. They have extra special attention every day and not just one day of the year. The only pet day I understand is National Black cat day as they do get overlooked in rescues. Are the others for social media purposes?
