I think there is something that needs to be addressed. I have worked with and at Bow Wows for the past 5years and from what I have just seen on Facebook very recently has made me truly upset.
At no point have we mis treated any dog in our care, in fact we pride ourselves on the care and attention we give to your dogs, giving the best skills and extensive knowledge that our groomers possess, we do not rush through a groom or do it just for the money. Yes we can be more expensive than other groomers, and this is a combination of the rise in bills, where we are situated in Port Solent, together with the value I truly believe dog groomers deserve for the skills that they own. Grooming a dog does not come easy, they can move while grooming, they can bite, they can be aggressive, but they can also need a lot of extra reassurance to make them feel at ease. If any dog has not been happy while the groom has taken place then I will be honest with the owner so that we can work together to make the environment better for all. Everyone will always have different expectations of what and how they want their dog to look like, and if someone hasn’t liked the style we have done, then that is ok. Also if we had particularly noisy dogs that’s ok by us, but due to being situated right under and next to a cafe we do have to take other tenants into consideration.
If anything has happened with a dog in our care and occasionally it does, due to sharp tools being used and if the dog has unexpectedly moved, then I have always been honest and informed the customer of any incident. No one is 100% immune to incidents happening.
Also not every dog will like every person, that’s just how it is, do you like every person you meet?!
We have at no stage ever commented on social media or other public avenues about dogs that have come to us that have had bad experiences from other groomers (of which like most groomers is a common occurrence), to either enhance our business or lessen the reputation of other local groomers. I don’t understand why groomers just can’t work together for the good of the dogs, and gain further experience and good customer service to serve the whole community.
If any customer has a problem with a groom, or with the services we offer, or with what we advise to work forward to make your dogs groom nicer and easier for them then I have always asked you to tell us. I am not adverse to criticism as that’s how we all learn and will always take any comments on board without the need to blatantly slate a company on social media.
I have always prided myself on good customer service and trying to do the best job I can as well as supporting and understanding my groomers needs and ultimately doing the right thing by the dog, which let’s be honest is the most important thing and the reason we are here.
We are a quieter groomers and don’t pack dogs in to aid their comfort.
I hope that Bow Wows continues to be a success with the extremely skilled groomers that we have working here. If I didn’t think they were, trust me they wouldn’t be here, I have had my fair share of groomers that I felt where not upto speed, and I won’t take second best.
If anyone would like to discuss there dogs past, existing or future care with us then I/we are more than happy to do so. And to all the other groomers, let’s try and support each other in the field of caring for our dogs than trying to profit of occasional opinions that are not always truthful.
