🦒 🦏 🌍 WILDERNESS FOUNDATION AFRICA 🌍 🐆 🐘

As some of you know, one of our nurses Nicole had an amazing opportunity to volunteer in the Eastern Cape of South Africa with Medivet’s partnered charity.

The Wilderness Foundation Africa is an African-based NGO that protects and sustains landscapes through its agile and innovative approach to conservation.

“Seeing the impact the wildlife foundation has had on the landscapes, conservation of vulnerable species, and development of the local communities first hand, was nothing short of amazing. I want to say a huge thank you to our clients - who, without their continued support and very generous donations, none of this would be possible. Please, please, please continue to donate where possible, so that we may all leave this world a better place than we found it!” - Nicole ❤️

When making card payments, our terminal will ask if you would like to make a donation to our charity.
Alternatively, we have a charity pot if you have any loose change - every little helps!

***Nicole has some exciting fundraisers coming up soon so keep your eyes peeled - you might just see a roaming Rhino on the loose around Cuffley hill! 😉🦏***

Dogs are naturally very curious so it's important to keep hidden dangers in your household out of paw's reach. Household cleaners and medications should be locked away.

With Easter approaching remember to keep chocolate away from your pets, and contact your vet immediately if they eat something they shouldn't.

‼️ COVID ‼️

⭐️ THANK YOU FOR BEING PATIENT WITH US ⭐️

COVID is on the rise, the numbers are increasing and sadly it has affected a lot of our staff members in the region over the last couple of weeks which means they are then off work for the 10 day isolation rules.
We’ve had both vets and nurses that have been affected leaving us extremely short staffed and without a vet on some days.

Our nurses are extremely skilled so some consultations we are still able to do but this is very dependent and worked out on a case by case basis.

We understand that it’s frustrating that we are constantly moving your appointments around when we have no vet available, but unfortunately it’s out of our control.
We’d just like to thank you for being patient with us and understanding that COVID is still here.

All staff members affected so far are fine and recovering well ♥️

If you have any concerns or worries please give us a call or email us at [email protected] and make sure you state your name and animals name in the email.

Thank you again ♥️

Evening everyone!
Hope you all enjoyed your bank holiday weekend!

We have some cuties up today.. meet Casper & Pip 😍♥️

The 2 brothers came to visit us today for their castrations 🐈‍⬛

It’s really important to get your kittens neutered, especially if they’re going to be outdoor cats!
It helps control the stray feline population as well as potentially helping with some behaviours like spraying, stops unwanted pregnancies & even some types of cancers.

Look how relaxed they were together in their bed 😻

Please contact the practice if you have any questions on neutering via phone or email 👍🏻

The veterinary profession as a whole is really struggling at the moment; staff levels, pet and client numbers have increased, covid isolations etc - please rest assure that we are doing everything possible to see your pet 🐾

We ask for your patience and kindness towards our staff and if we contact you regarding postponing a routine appointment, please understand this is to give us time to fit in a poorly patient 😿

Thank you all again for your support and understanding during this time ⭐️

***UPDATE ON FLEA AND WORMING***
Some of our products have changed - please enquire in branch about your parasite control options🪱🦟

18/07/2021

Happy Sunday everyone! Hope you’re keeping all your doggies out of the heat and providing them with plenty of water & shade! 💦 ☀️

❗️COVID UPDATE ❗️

❌ This may disappoint some however our rules will not be changing on Monday 19th July. ❌

Masks will still need to be worn to enter our practice with temperature checks on arrival.
Our clients are welcome to sit in reception on a one in one out basis, or wait in their cars but not the consult room as of yet. 😷

There are many reasons for this decision;

- Our staff are not fully vaccinated yet
- The covid cases are on the rise again
- The self isolation rules have not yet changed
- We have a lot of elderly and vulnerable clients that we want to continue to protect
- Our staff members have vulnerable family members and some still haven’t seen their immediate family
- If one of our staff members get covid and have to self isolate, it will seriously affect the running of our practice and may end up in us closing our doors for the 7-10 day isolation period. We are very short on vets and nurses recently as it is for many reasons so we don’t want to contribute to this unnecessarily.

We want to still be able to provide care and treatment to your fur babies and we cannot do this if we’re short staffed or closed.
We hope you can understand and respect our decision for now - just a reminder that we will not tolerate any rude or abusive behaviour to our staff members.

We thank you for your cooperation and patience with us over the last 15 months, hopefully not too much longer till we resume to pre covid rules ❤️🐾

02/07/2021

Please be patient & understanding to all veterinary staff ❤️

17/06/2021

We have had a reptile handed into us by a member of the public - please contact us if this could be your pet 💙

17/06/2021

Just a gentle reminder to all of our clients and any potential clients that we have the right to refuse service to those who are rude or aggressive towards our staff.

We will not tolerate any rude or aggressive behaviour.
Please have patience and respect for our staff members as we are working very hard to provide veterinary services to you and your pets.

Thank you. ❤️

💉❤️ let us know if you’re able to help!

Could your cat become a life saver by becoming a blood donor ????

❤️ Are they over 4kg ?
❤️ Aged between 1yr to 8yrs
❤️ Fully vaccinated ?
❤️ Upto date with flea and worming
❤️ Not travelled outside of the UK ?
❤️ Not received a blood transfusion themselves

Did you know that cats have different types of blood groups just like humans ??

💚 We will check they are fully healthy by running a simple blood test, which will also tell us which blood type they are before they donate.

💙 Unlike dog blood, cat blood unfortunately cannot be stored.
So you would be contacted and asked to bring your cat in if needed in an emergency.

They will be given a light sedation to allow us to keep them nice and calm whilst we collect the donation, which will be transfused immediately.

If you would like some more details please call the practice to speak to one of our nurses 🐾

✨ Good evening everyone! ✨

One of our really cute patients Stanley came to see us this week as his mum thought she saw him eat what we thought was 1 small poo bag just before the weekend! He had a bit of diarrhoea on Sunday & Monday but otherwise was totally fine in himself, still a bright and happy boy! 💙

Stanley came into us after the weekend so we could check him over because of his runny p**p 💩 & we did some xrays and saw something in his stomach so we proceeded with an endoscopy. This is a camera that is inserted through the mouth, down the oesophagus and into the tummy to see what’s there with a retrieval device to remove whatever may be in there if it’s possible. Watch the video below to see what Stanley thought was a yummy snack! 😂

💙 Stanley has recovered well & enjoying cuddles at home again with mum 💙

If you’re ever worried your pet has eaten something they shouldn’t, please don’t hesitate to ring us! It could save your dogs life 🐶💕
