⚠️Bio- Security⚠️
Your horse's health and well-being is something that we take extremely seriously. To do so, we follow specific guidelines we have created with our knowledge, that of vets and other Equine Health Professionals.
We ensure that we keep the horse and ponies we work with as safe as we can from certain diseases and infections by sticking to the following rules.
Personal Protective Equipment
✖️Before arriving at your horse yard, we ensure that the clothes we wear (Hose down pants and jacket) are thoroughly sanitised by using products that kill up to 99% bacteria. This is then rinsed thoroughly to avoid any transference to your horse.
✖️Before leaving for another yard, our PPE is washed and sanitised, taken off and stored in a clean container within the transport.
Horse Safety
✖️We only use latex-free disposable gloves; these are changed after each horse.
✖️We use soft and gentle cloths that are again changed for each horse. At the end of the day, these are then soaked in a mild sanitising solution and washed thoroughly by hand.
✖️We never use chemicals on anything that would touch your horse.
✖️For the cleaning process, we do not use any products as the areas are very sensitive; therefore, we use warm water and a small amount of water-based lubricant to help break up any buildup that may have solidified.
✖️We finish by rinsing the area with a new bucket of warm water to ensure nothing is left to cause irritation.
✖️On the day of your horse’s hygiene service, we ask that you bring your horse in from the field between 1/2 hours to prevent any bugs that may rest on the underbelly of your horse from being moved in and around the sheath or v***a area.
