What an emotional day. I did my last groom this morning following 8 years. Of amazingnous!! I would just like to thank every lovely customer for your support and well wishes, gifts and cards. I will miss all the gorgeous dogs I groom. Here’s to my next chapter and I know John will do an amazing job taking up the reigns 🥰

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

Sadly, after 8 fantastic years, I have made the difficult decision to retire from Dog Grooming. This decision is based on two main factors. Firstly, dog grooming is extremely physically demanding. With constant back ache, neck and shoulder pain it is becoming more and more difficult. As I still have 11 years to work before I can consider retirement completely I know in my heart I can not sustain the physical aspect. Secondly, financially it is no longer viable unless I groom more dogs but physically I cannot.
Grooming has been the best years of my life and for everyone that knows me spending days with the love of my life, dogs, has been an absolute pleasure.

John is taking on the business as a whole and continuing to groom but on a reduced scale so he has time to walk and care for the dogs that are boarding with us. Boarding continues as normal.

I have made many friends over the years and had the support from the best customers I could possibly have asked for. I cannot thank them enough. I will miss seeing my doggies, many I have groomed from being puppies and have seen every 4-8 weeks over the last 8 years.
I am going back into an admin role following our holiday at the end of June. I’m excited for this and cannot wait to join what seem an amazing team of people.
Thank you Canine Groom School for your fantastic training 8 years ago that have led me to have an extremely successful career and continued support over the last 8 years.

❌ RAPESEED! ❌

It’s that time of year again where farmers fields have blossomed into pretty yellow flowers, these plants are called rapeseed. Although it may be tempting to place your dog in the midst to take a scenic photo, please avoid this at all costs!

Rapeseed is extremely poisonous for dogs, especially in highly sensitive canines.

Rapeseed is listed by Dogs Trust as toxic to our dogs if ingested and can cause symptoms such as:

❌Haemolytic Anaemia
❌ Blindness
❌ Damaged Nervous System
❌ Digestive Disorders
❌ Breathing Problems

Even walking through these fields should be avoided! In June 2019, a dog was reported to be suffering from severe open wounds after running through a crop of rapeseed.

Please seek immediate veterinary attention if your dog shows any signs of rapeseed poisoning!

# # NOTICE OF PRICE INCREASES WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT # #

Dear valued customers,

Due largely to a further increase in our energy costs amongst many other price rises, KC DOG GROOMING has come to the difficult decision to increase it’s pricing with immediate effect, as our current pricing structure is no longer sustainable. With a further increase likely to take place in April 2024.

Yet still, our pricing is and will still be better value than the well known national chain stores grooming services. And is also still below the national average.

Please also note that our home boarding service will also increase, but from January 2024.

The 1830s stone built cottage is called “Bryn Tirion” , has three bedrooms, separate kitchen and dining room and a cosy living room with a log burner. During lockdown, we renovated the property and included a hot tub and a games room in the large rear garden.
The cottage has been very busy over the summer and we’ve had lots of lovely feedback from our guests.

It is with great sadness, that after five years of fun, laughter and tears, we say goodbye to Abi.
Abi is leaving us to pursue a career in Veterinary nursing with Rufford vets.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Abi for all her hard work, lovely grooms and friendship. And to wish her the best of luck in her new career.

Also, sadly, we are having to say goodbye to a large number of Abis regular customers as we just don’t have the capacity.
So again, thank you for your custom and support over the years. And we hope you have managed to find a space at another dog groomer.
