Do you have a puppy? 🤔

If so, we are so happy for you! Having a puppy is a wonderful experience. 🥰 However, you might wonder, “When will my puppy stop growing?”

Time flies by when you have a puppy, but maturity will come usually between 6 and 24 months of age, depending on their breed size. Small breeds might reach their adult size at 6 months, while larger breeds will normally take a little longer.

Oak trees are beginning to shed now, and many dogs can’t resist crunching fallen acorns. 🍂

⚠️ Acorns contain tannins that irritate the gut and, in large amounts, can cause serious problems, including kidney and liver damage.

If your dog has eaten acorns, you might notice:

👉 Vomiting

👉 Diarrhoea (sometimes with blood)

👉 Stomach pain

👉 Being tired within a few hours

👉 Red itchy skin

👉 Shaking

🌟 Pet of the Week 🌟

Meet Ben, the doggy paddle champion of the century! 🏊‍♂️🐾 After a fun-filled river romp, Ben decided “I’m not leaving, fur-get it!” … but the water had other ideas. He soon found himself barking cold! ❄️🐶

Hypothermia is no joke, and poor Ben arrived with a dangerously low temperature of 35.2°C (a healthy dog should be between 38.3–39.2°C). He was in a comatose state and in a life-threatening condition.

Thankfully, our amazing veterinary surgeon and paw-some nurses were on the case. With lots of specialist care, warmth and love, Ben is now back to being one hot dog! 🌭❤️

Moral of the tail… Swimming is great fun, but it’s important to keep a close eye on your pup to make sure it doesn’t turn into a ruff situation.
