35 years ago today Nicola qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse.
She has spent her whole career working at our Veterinary Centre on New Hall Lane getting to know many of our clients and their furry friends very well indeed.
We know you will want to join us in thanking her for all the care and dedication she has shown over the years

Update 02/07 - thank you for all the shares and concern over this little dog. Unfortunately the owner did not come forward and she was collected by the dog warden last week. Please contact them regarding any rehoming enquiries.

This little lady was brought into the surgery this morning by a member of the public who found her in the Brockholes area. Sadly the microchip details are not up to date so we have not been able to trace her owner. Please contact the surgery on 01772 701432 if you recognise her. Proof of ownership required.
The dog warden has been informed and will be collecting her before 6pm today.

๐Ÿˆโ€โฌ› A reminder for all cat owners! ๐Ÿˆ

From 10 June 2024 cats over 20 weeks old must be and registered on a compliant database.

By microchipping their cats, owners can increase the likelihood that they will be reunited with their beloved pet in the event that they go missing.

๐Ÿ’šDid you know that May is and 2024 marks the campaignโ€™s 20th year! ๐Ÿ’š
We have two wonderful Registered Veterinary Nurses, Nicola and Zak. Nicola joined us as a student in 1989 and then as a Registered Veterinary Nurse when she completed her training at Myerscough College in 1995. Zak qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2020 from Myerscough College and has been a welcome addition to our team since 2022. Their dedication, expert skills and knowledge make them an integral part of the team. We are very lucky to have them!

to all of our clients who are celebrating. We wish you a joyous and peaceful Eid with your loved ones.

An update on our kittens.
We shall spend a few days monitoring these little babies as they have not been left in good condition at all. They are receiving lots of care and attention. The mum cats are lovely and friendly.
All cat charities/rescues in the local area have been contacted.
Itโ€™s heart warming that people have offered homes but all prospective owners will be vetted before any kittens are rehomed/fostered. Many thanks.

02/04/2024

Sadly this afternoon a male member of the public abandoned 2 adult cats and 12 kittens in our waiting room - while we were trying to contact rescue centres on his behalf he ran off. This individual is on CCTV and will be reported to the relevant authorities.
We are desperately looking for foster homes for a selection of kittens approx 8 weeks old plus 2 โ€˜mumsโ€™ but we have no idea which kittens belong to which mum unfortunately.

๐Ÿ‡Did you know that rabbit teeth never stop growing and if the top and bottom teeth donโ€™t line up correctly, theyโ€™ll grow too long and the rabbit wonโ€™t be able to eat properly.
๐Ÿ‡This is often due to a lack of hay in their diet.
Luckily for this little bunny, her new owner noticed something wasnt quite right and brought her in to see the vet. Poor Coco had terribly overgrown teeth so came in yesterday to have them trimmed under sedation. She'll be feeling much better today!
Isn't she just adorable ๐Ÿ˜

We had a beautiful and not so small puppy in clinic this week.

๐Ÿถ Esme passed her weight check and left knowing that she is fit and healthy.

๐Ÿถ Esme's weight will be regularly monitored and if requested, her owner advised how to keep this on track.

We are available to help and support our clients and their pets with weight management, should there be any questions or concerns.

From us all at Newhall Veterinary Centre, we hope you have a lovely weekend.

This week beautiful Enzo came into the practice for a routine appointment. He was so very well behaved throughout his time to us. We hope that you agree when we say that he is absolutely stunning?!

31/01/2024

You may have noticed that we have started taking prepayments for certain appointments and deposits for surgery over the phone at the time of booking, this is the reason why:

In January alone we had.....
โŒ 30 missed appointments
โŒ 23 late cancellations

Due to the high demand for appointments, when a client cancels without giving advanced notice, they prevent another patient from being seen.

If you must cancel your appointment, we request a call or email at least 24 hours beforehand. For surgery we ask for 48 hours notice.
Our team can be contacted by calling 01772 701432 or by emailing [email protected]

*Update* Owner found

We are looking to trace the owner of a young female cat that was sadly fatally hit by a car on Brockholes Brow this afternoon. She is a black and white domestic shorthair with 4 white socks. We think she may have had kittens recently. No collar or microchip. Please get in touch for more information.

Just a reminder of the impending cat microchipping law.
From 10th June 2024, all owned cats are required to be microchipped by the time they reach the age of 20 weeks old.
Microchipping is by far the most effective and quickest way of identifying lost cats and reuniting them with their owners. This will also help ease the tremendous pressure on rescue charities. For more information or to book an appointment please contact our friendly team ๐Ÿ˜ธ
