Fond farewells Mondays 30th September - please join us 🧁🍰

It is with great sadness that Newhall Veterinary Centre will be permanently closed as of Tuesday 1st October. It has been a privilege and a blessing serving our clients and this community and caring for your wonderful pets, we shall miss you tremendously.

Many of you don’t know that the practice was actually due to be closed down by its previous owners, Vet Partners, in September 2019 and as I felt that would be a terrible loss to the community, clients and staff I chose to take it over. Over the last five years you have seen the practice grow and transform including moving to a new premises, none of which would have been possible without my amazing team.

We are all disappointed that despite our best efforts we are now closing down. Staff and clients alike have laughed and cried our way through the past few months and we know that this final week will be especially hard.

However on Monday 30th September we invite clients to come and say their farewells and celebrate the last 5 years. We will have cakes, cookies and chocolates and can show you β€˜behind the scenes’.

I thank you all for entrusting your beloved pets into our care, it really has been an honor. We all really appreciate your kind words, cards and personal farewells, they mean a lot.

I thank my amazing staff, from beginning to end, they have been committed to serving you to the best of their ability and I don’t have enough words to express my gratitude for the blessing they have been to me both professionally and personally.

I thank local practices who have been supportive during our closing down process and we know that you will take care of those clients who are now under your care.

Due to expected travel difficulties in our area on Sat 8th Sep there will be no appointments or vet care available during our opening hours of 9am to 12pm. The practice will be open, medicines can be collected and staff will redirect any emergencies to a neighbouring practice who are assisting us in this instance.

35 years ago today Nicola qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse.
She has spent her whole career working at our Veterinary Centre on New Hall Lane getting to know many of our clients and their furry friends very well indeed.
We know you will want to join us in thanking her for all the care and dedication she has shown over the years

Update 02/07 - thank you for all the shares and concern over this little dog. Unfortunately the owner did not come forward and she was collected by the dog warden last week. Please contact them regarding any rehoming enquiries.

This little lady was brought into the surgery this morning by a member of the public who found her in the Brockholes area. Sadly the microchip details are not up to date so we have not been able to trace her owner. Please contact the surgery on 01772 701432 if you recognise her. Proof of ownership required.
The dog warden has been informed and will be collecting her before 6pm today.

πŸˆβ€β¬› A reminder for all cat owners! 🐈

From 10 June 2024 cats over 20 weeks old must be and registered on a compliant database.

By microchipping their cats, owners can increase the likelihood that they will be reunited with their beloved pet in the event that they go missing.

An update on our kittens.
We shall spend a few days monitoring these little babies as they have not been left in good condition at all. They are receiving lots of care and attention. The mum cats are lovely and friendly.
All cat charities/rescues in the local area have been contacted.
It’s heart warming that people have offered homes but all prospective owners will be vetted before any kittens are rehomed/fostered. Many thanks.
