Happy New year everyone and what better start to the year than a walk with Rachel and her 3 and molly , maddie and ratus molly made willows birthday fun playing chase me then a quiet on lead walk for step with my 2 spaniels

2 very different walks toy morning crew were calm and steady we walked with a friend and all the dogs were so good together sorry forgot to do photos then crazy collie in the afternoon she had a blast and was so good

Lovely Leo having great fun on Saturday with me hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and thank you to all the amazing mini mutts family for you trust in me Over the last year I think of all the dogs in my care as my own and love watching them develop new friendships and just have great fun when out on walks
Morning crew woody practicing his stop whistle bit rusty but not bad at all and of course individual name recall for all such brilliant doggies
Afternoon crew were joined by my pup for his first group walk they were all so good with him the perfect crew for his first walk
Afternoon crew and Leo loving life now you see a happy fun loving dog but he has a ecollar on when out with me as his prey drive is off the scale and he needs to run and have freedom now I normally only need the vibration setting to remind him to recall when he get a scent or see something to chase but just before this he was off after birds so I had to use the stimulus button and as you can see he not shut down or scared but loving having off lead time not many dogs need these ecollar and they are always a last resort but for the few that do it gives them freedom and a fun life and ofter after a while don't need them on

Poor woody these squirrels don't half tease him he was so good a bit of moaning but he kept his cool so proud of him
Afternoon crew and step was a little bit full of it today she been doing so well one off day isn't bad and maddie was with us here but soon was off but I can forgive her as its her birthday
Morning crew and joey was a super star leaving her mum alone and doing her own thing
Afternoon crew and a windy walk which reggie was not impressed by but he still had fun and cheeky Winston who puts on a show when I collect him but once out you can see he has a great time love him to bits he always brightens up any walk
Morning crew and willow was in full pest mode she's such a monkey mini Alfie having a few walks on lead as the temptation to chase squirrels is getting him in trouble so I am ding some training on lead to teach him to leave them and stay nearer me he did great today
Afternoon crew and lots of fun molly flushed lots of partridge in the first field then step had the zoomies in the second field the rest were quite calm and steady compared to the 2 speedy girls
Damp wander this morning but still lots of fun
Mini Alfie prey drive overtakes his listening ears on this bit of the woods so on long line and a bit of reinforcing through praise to listen and stay close I don't use lots of treat just praise as I don't want to bribe him I want him to realise stay close and listening is a good thing not just there treats and this is where the force free /purely positive lot will be screaming treats treats treats by having him on a lead I am restricting how far he can go so forcing him to stay near and if I ijnor this behaviour I don't want and only reward if he looks or returns to me he will learn he can go chase squirrels but as long as he returns he will be rewarded
So giving him boundary and clear commands of yes no after a few weeks he will hopefully be off lead on this stretch of woodland and under safe and close control

Afternoon crew and oh dear Alfie he had to much fun chasing squirrels and wasn't listening so on the lead he goes he didn't seem to mind to much think he was tired after all the running around Maggie and reggie love walking together they have so much fun
