Larkshall Hada X**a - named after a famous water fairy in Spain left us this weekend for her new home. She has been an absolute delight for all of us. Her new owner has been and spent time with her from birth and handled her. We dropped her off Saturday and she fitted straight in. She was completely chilled and relaxed with her older Spanish mare companion, quite happy with no obvious stress at all! She’s got her first rug and had her feet done today. I am very proud of this filly and we absolutely wish her owner the very best of luck with her. She isn’t far from us and so we will be seeing her often.

Oberon and X**a had their first steps into the trailer today for training as X**a will be off to her new home very soon and is well under way with the weaning process. In true son of Orgulloso style, Oberon cared not one bit and went in and out like he’s been doing it his whole life! X**a was a little less convinced but she stood with all 4 feet on the ramp eating and that is enough for today. Such lovely babies ❤️

Larkshall X**a Hada says Happy “Christmas Tree day”!! Everyone on the yard has been off buying trees today and setting them up! Hope your homes are starting to look festive! We haven’t actually had a chance yet! Just been having fun with the horses! This foal is such a joyous person, she absolutely loves the humans!

A day of firsts - Larkshall Hada Oberon had his feet trimmed for the first time and was good as gold. All my young horses start all their experiences early, they see the dental gag by the time they are a yearling - they know about the horse trailer, traffic, the farrier, the vet, everything - all slowly and in good time but it is why they have excellent temperaments. This week we started the backing process for Sassy - Lago Rapunzel, as with most things in her life she has started safely and happily and tonight was her first night out in the round pen with a passenger, super girl and very chilled, fingers crossed it lasts!

Finally our new arena is finished! Massive thanks to Beta-Ride Pro Equestrian Services Limited for all their help and support and laying and mixing the fabulous Astrofibre surface! Huge thanks to Paul Bettens and his colleagues for doing all the ground work!

Yesterday Temp and I came back from a fab clinic with Sally Bell Dressage - he was very enthusiastic about the whole experience and loved the gallops! Claire Nightingale came with me on Campero and we had a blast. I was and still am exhausted- thanks to Sally and her lovely mum Sarah for a fabulous few days at Pontispool.

Orgulloso and I were kindly invited to Star Andalusians PRE Stud Group (Spanish PRE Horses) for a fabulous photo shoot. Orgie is my absolute heart horse! These photos taken by Lesley Warrington are so lovely! Orgie was completely underwhelmed by the whole experience so it’s lovely that there are some fabulous photos ### thank you Lesley and Samantha Jo Tilley x

I’ve had the pleasure of the fabulous Libbo- Libertador Barquero staying with me on training livery. He’s been an utter joy to have. I would keep this one lol! A stunning PRE bred by Rebecca Bennard and one I’ve known since he was a baby on the show circuit with his mum Tracy! Today she rode him out on a full hack after her knee surgery and her smile said it all. Super proud of both of them!

I may have had the busiest week ever!! Today was no different this morning Annette and I popped out to Wells for the past wide and slow campaign ride! Lovely to meet the current deputy Mayor. Very nice man! Asked me to go back on the Council!! lol I went out on Temp and back On Lily! 😂 the whole yard team came and walked with us ! Legging Annette onto Temp in record time while we literally changed horses mid stream😂 a huge step all around for Annette Baker as she had only ridden Temp once before!! Back and then out on Paddy to give Felicity her first off lead canters on Purdy! Soooo proud of her!! April Davis
