The ever fabulous Temperano at 18 years of age- still strutting his stuff! Not to the ANCCE judges taste - but loved his movement ! 5th in the riden gelding class where he was soooo up for it he expected to go walk to canter!! Hmm nope!! lol but he was tired on Sunday for his Functionality! As always he was plucked from the field a few weeks before and off we went! Lol he’s always a joy to take anywhere! Thank you to every one of our lovely friends old and new who we have had a lovely weekend at GBPRE with! Thank you to my lovely friends at home who looked after the horses while we were away ### lots of fun had with Temp and Sassy.. They are very pleased to be back home with their friends in the fields! Temp did well in the ring - at 18 he was a bit tired today but yesterday he was as forward as ever!! Showing class was an absolutely hoot! 😂🤦🏼‍♀️

With lovely Falcon happily ensconced with his new family I’m getting to work with some of the other Maryss stud PRE horses. Draco is now looking for his new people and the gorgeous yearling “Hero” has been handled, met the farrier, gelded and is also looking for a new paddock. He’s just such a friendly baby!! I will miss these two, but it will mean I get more time to spend with the stallions - Hero’s sire is another joy to work with. They have been so trusting and a real pleasure to spend time with!

Love him. Judge said he rarely wants to take a horse home but he would love him! Also told me he’s a man’s horse! 😂😂😂 Paul had to tell him that no he really isn’t 😂 he’s very much a mummies boy. Then the bastard barged out of his stable and caused panic! Where did the “loose stallion” go? Nearest muck heap😂😂😂 to snuffle it and then graze! So embarrassing but he was rather pi**ed off he didn’t get his hack and he wasn’t with his new BFF Cherro!! Mares or poo?? Poo it is then🤦🏼‍♀️ travelled there and back with Sassy in the trailer and not one s**t given! 😂 they are both the most delightful people - I don’t post as much about her but she is epic.. I handled her more than Paul today as Orgie MOVES and I just can’t run like that!!! Where she is super speedy but runs with me bent in waiting to play! They are all such a joy. I love the crazy Iberian world - we all know each other and we all support each other! It’s been a super weekend.

Back behind the beat ears in the world! And with my best other bestie Sumo! Who hasn’t left me since I came home. Oberon went nuts and really has his voice! We all get shouted at a lot!
lol and we are now allowed to scratch him all over! - a week ago he had no teeth! Now he does! Loved Spain and really had the best break! But happy to be home! Paddocks have been mowed and harrowed lol! No peace!!

Last night we had our long awaited and very much wanted foal born. Oberon Hada JCN. This is Orgulloso Sal’s first offspring and out of our Calificado Mare Remachita Maynou. It all happened very quickly and without issue at a very reasonable time of the night!

Yesterday we replaced one of our tired stable blocks and had the drive resurfaced so the ponies and visitors no longer have to bounce up the drive! It’s been a busy fun week here! Today saw the muckheap dung board being replaced! And I got to ride Orgulloso!! Who rode out with the lovely Xena very happily ❤️

The highlight of this year without a doubt had been watching my 11 year old son learn about how babies are made… he’s been utterly thrilled with having to watch this process… ( NOT) earlier in the year he watched coverings in Spain and scannings for foals… he told
Me he was never ever doing that if that if it involved where the vet put his hand… he watched the poo being removed first…. Oh
How we laughed 😈 and then I gave him a biology lesson… he then attended an open evening at a vets with us on breeding and was fascinated and asked loads of brilliant questions….. well he’s back to mortified… refuses to get out of the car as we have taken three mares to be covered at Orchid stud by Dreamer who is also SA free! While we waited for our own C**t to come of age. Alaric says he would rather wash his eyes with shampoo!! Hopefully we have three mini mares in foal to Dreamer registered mini Shetland stallion, all will be fantastic colours as he is a cremello!
Orgulloso didn’t take to the AI dummy but now he has an idea what it’s all about hopefully he will take to it.. this has been his first covering year and for me he is still the best option!! ❤️

After months of debate… is she ?
Isn’t she pregnant ….
NO she was not!!!😂😡 fatty pants Halstock Demerara defied the vets and us and failed to produce the promised rabbit size offspring…
A blood tests eventually showed she absolutely was not in foal!! She just ate all the pies!! Her
Punishment for this disappointment has been to live with Teddy!! They both are excellently bred! And she has totally schooled the young upstart. He will have his Shetland grading before this foal
Is born and is Skeletal Ativism free! They have done the deed and are living happily together.. Teddy is a much happier person and back to his old self!
No longer standing on your shoulders without warning!! He was getting close to an Asbo and treatment like a velociraptor, turned out all he needed was an older woman!!

Royal Cornwall show - a very successful show for us!
Julie Lee’s Temperano and I took in hand FB champ and PRE champ and Paul took the youngstock title. We were on for the ridden title but we had a slip and fall during a display the day before and Temps shoe shifted and chose our ridden show to come loose! So off I hopped in the main arena with a twisted shoe and his leg in the air until a vet and a farrier came and checked the nail he landed on was only into his white line! Phew! All was good but we couldn’t continue! So a sad end but we went on wearing the wonderful
Costume loaned by Emma Green and made by her to do the displays and ride alongside Jess White and my late friend Susie Jennings and her husband Chris’ horse Snazzy Nazzy!

Not her most flattering picture!! But the actually very beautiful Calificado mare Remachita Maynou is now mine and in foal my bloody fanatic Orgulloso Sal! This will be a very exciting baby! He is from a Calificado sire who is JRR for dressage and is 3/4 pure Guardiola line bred, from a Champion of all Spain Centella V sire of the Elite stallion Educado X who was grandsire of my amazing Ingenioso! And a quarter pure Romero Benitez!
This is a baby to watch for the future! Thank you Charlotte Crocker Westlake and family for allowing her to join my stud, she is so delightful Alaric can walk her in from the field! We hope to have her for many years to come!!

I was gifted the very lovely Hierba Mora (blackberry) via Mary McBryde and her lovely
Owner who wanted her to have an amazing home. She’s bred a few PRE and a few warlanders. She is 20 and the kindest girl. She is now confirmed in foal to Sarah Sutton’s Mas Ural… hoping for a buckskin foal. This well bred PRE foal will be available if all goes to plan!

The Iberian show was successful for us. I had the pleasure of helping lots of my friends and loved Rosemary’s beautiful mare, I had the pleasure of working with her to help her with the scary grates into the ring! Our Filly Sassy - Lago Rapunzel- was best in hand performance at the show

Our lovely filly bred and co owned with Yeguada Lago, strutting her stuff yesterday in the ANCCE classes with Paul Bettens. She is a lovely girl to have at home with us - she has developed into a cracking yearling ❤️ Sassy pants as we call her has behaved impeccably!

Lovely hack in the sun on the Lovely section D - Barney who is with me for a few weeks - what a lovely boy he is ### he lip flaps at home like one of the Highland ponies I used to ride when I was young! He’s equally cheeky! Like Loki anything near him has to be removed, chucked around, stamped on, pulled out or off…. It’s ongoing 😂

We’ve had a very busy week with the arrival of the gorgeous section D Barney!! Who’s is in for some Julie Love! He’s rather lovely… today was dentist day with the fabulous Laura Biro Equine Dentisty….
The ponies all had their teeth done today as the new ones were all due so we had a special visit ..
Laura has recently also done a bit fitting course so it was ace to have her check a few things… one important point to make was that your bit is laying inside one of the ridges on the mouth of the roof of your horses mouth! Not up against the downwards process of the roof.. so
Open your horses mouth with the bit in and check… I have a lot of horses in with the bit not fitting in quite the correct place. Ponies are also often looked in dentistry.. thankfully my liveries are amazing! So little Sooty who we just want to keep on the yard but is leaving us in February, had his teeth done and nasty hooks on the very back teeth.. he was impeccable.!!!
