Owners : IMPORTANT.
We appreciate that many of you are new paw-parents or have never sent your dogs to kennels or home boarding, so please take note.
For future boarding requests:
1. Always book your dog into a licenced service or with a pet sitter first before booking your own holiday. (appreciate not always possible, but your dog is a member of your family)

2. You really need to book at least 6+months to a year in advance.

3. Always ensure the person holds a local authority licence for home boarding, day care or kennels

4. Think about adding cancellations to your travel insurance.

More often than not we are finding more and more unlicensed businesses, letting owners down last minute.
With an unlicensed business you cannot claim on their business insurance, because it's not valid.

Every council should hold an ANIMAL WELFARE REGISTER of LICENCED BUSINESSESS.

Does choosing a licensed dog boarder or daycare really matter?

YES! And here’s just one reason why. 👇

If your dog boarder or daycare isn’t licensed… their insurance is highly likely to be invalid. And so is yours if something happens to your dog in their care.

We all know that insurance companies are total sticklers for policies and ts and cs. And if your chosen daycare or dog boarder isn’t licensed… insurers are not going to pay out for any accidents, injuries or incidents.

🛑 Licensing isn’t a nice to have. It’s essential. 🛑

Licensed establishments have also completed insanely thorough risk assessments and have comprehensive policies to ensure that your dog is in the very best of hands. And that is worth celebrating.

Three cheers for all the ethical pet pros doing things properly and putting dogs first. 🙌
