Here is to remembering all the great historical contributions & events women created.

Such as Mary Tealby the founder of Battersea dogs home in 1860 formally known as The temporary home for lost & starving dogs. Saving thousands of dogs and supported in its time by Charles Dickens. People like Mary should be remembered & celebrated.

Here’s to you Mary paving the way for many dogs homes past & present.

Famous Thor & his Double Coat

Anyone who owns a dog with a double coat knows of the fur tumble weeds that so often blast past your feet as your having a cuppa. 🤦‍♀️

They are hairy beasts and need treating as such with regular brushing at home a few times per week and professional grooming between 6-10weeks dependant on home maintenance,
Fuzzy undercoat like candy floss can matt up without maintenance, and it’s a real nightmare when it starts, not to mention these bog monsters can get a real stinky by absorbing lots of dirt & grime into their thick coats whenever they go outside. so keep on top of it and your grooming schedule!

Breed examples - retrievers, Newfoundlands, Bernese, shepards

Drop coated breeds such as Shihtzu, Lhasa Apso & Afghan hounds need regular daily brushing and professional grooming every 4-6 weeks dependant on style & lifestyle.

Many owners choose to keep their pets in a shorter style as it is more manageable as this type of coat continuously grows, and given the chance this hair type would flow to the floor within no time.

Chico is maintained on a 6 week schedule at between 10-13mm, he’s also a 10/10 good boy 🥰

Knot free.
This type of coat is a fast continuous growing coat with minimal shedding and without regular grooming can become matted very easily,

As a general rule the longer the coat the more regular you will need to visit your groomer,
These should be brushed daily at home and when deciding on a style for your pup it should be factored in the type of lifestyle you have, how often you would like to visit the groomer, how much time you can dedicate to home maintenance.

In short if you like muddy walks, don’t want to be at the groomers every 3 weeks and don’t want to spend hours brushing at home a shorter style is for you,

Raffy models a 13mm teddy trim and I’ve never found a knot or tangle on him yet, his owner does a wonderful job at home he comes every 6 weeks,

A wool coat is found for example in Poodles Bichons or any mix of these breeds (cockerpoos, labradoodles, cavachons etc)

Should be groomed every 4-8 weeks dependant on style, lifestyle and home maintenance.

Rule of thumb the longer the coat the more frequently you should be visiting the groomers.
Home brushing should be carried out daily to prevent matting, paying close attention to high friction areas such as ears, neck armpits & legs.

On a rainy Sunday what’s a better way to be cheered up then seeing this little lab Cora with her support ducky! ❤️

Her duck travelled in the car with her, and she held it most of the groom apart from in the bath 🛁, and when she wasn’t holding it I made sure it was right next to her 🥹

Some dogs find comfort in bringing along their favourite toy or blanket, others find comfort in bringing along their other doggy companion (Lexi & Mac I’m looking at you 😂)

Whatever it is The Pod wants to make it a pleasurable experience for dog & owner. Cora it was a pleasure to meet you & Ducky ❤️ here’s her before & after ❤️

This afternoon’s appointments will be dependant on what the electrician advises and the issue at hand. I will confirm this by noon.

Any affected appointments will be rescheduled asap, please accept my apologies for the inconvenience. Unfortunately this is outside of my control.
