Did you know that Street Farm sits at the northern end of the Pennine Bridleway (PB)? We are in a perfect location for exploring the local fells on your horse, or even setting off on a Pennine Bridleway trip!
Today was an awesome day for a trip up Wild Boar fell - the first (or last) summit you would do if riding the PB. As you can see - the views are unbelievable.
We just did a there and back ride today but you could have been in 2 different counties - heading up towards the fell it looks dramatic and remote, but turn around at the top to come back down and you have the beautiful stonewalled farmland with the Howgill fells in the foreground and the Lake District fells in the distance!
Official horse holidays resume in May 2025 and are already booking up, however if you would like to come October to May just ask - we might be able to help!!

Catching the good October weather on a lovely ride this morning!
The horse holidays are nearly finished for 2024 - we have had a great summer with some fabulous guests, well-attended clinics and a huge variety of horses. Our normal horse holidays resume in May 2025, however if you would like to visit over the winter please get in touch - we can fit 2-3 horses in the stables (no grazing available from November to May) and the riding is still fabulous!!!

Horses really seem to settle here on their holidays - they seem to like the spectacular views from the fields, but also like to come in for a good snooze.
Certainly my gang wait to come in for a few hours of breakfast hay and chilling out!!

Final day for the David Stuart Horsemanship clinic at Street farm. We were pretty lucky with the weather to be honest, however it turn rather cold and windy for the afternoon!
Lots of work on transitions, purity of gait etc today, after an early morning loading session which i got to experience with Marilyn. who is a bit nervous of trailers, and Honey who is young but bold!
We finally stopped around 4pm as the worst of the weather come in, and it was sad to say bye to everyone- they all made it the best clinic!
Glad to hear that Dave is going to do his best to return next year!!

Gosh - fourth day at the David Stuart clinic and all the horses are making such changes. We were so lucky with the weather today, just a couple of showers but they were mainly when we weren't riding.
We were working on transitions, including into canter, and getting rhythm in the paces.
A successful day for all!

David Stuart clinic Day 3 - well, what another fantastic day. Honey was transformed this morning after being "Daved" yesterday so I had a much easier time of it! Then a quick changeover for the ridden section on my fabulous mare Izzy. We had various ridden flexion exercises which built on the ground work, but then a hilarious exercise weaving in and out of each other in walk and then trot, which encouraged all the horses to feel more confident in the atmosphere and got us all laughing!
Trying to beat the weather, there was a lunchtime session where Dave rode 2 horses to help them out, followed by a further ridden clinic session.
Managed to finish just as the weather came in - currently listening to gales and rain from the house!!

Day 2 of the David Stuart Horsemanship clinic at Street Farm!
Today was even more awesome with lots more changes from the horses and more understanding from the humans!!
My own youngster Honey had some personal education from Dave -and oh boy, she needed it! And then this ended up with her being trotted and cantered round the round pen - her first time under saddle. Although she had thrown some rather spectacular shapes before this!
I ended up back on the awesome Marilyn who, apart from the day she cut her leg open, had not been ridden for a month. So she had to show off by rodeoing for a few minutes at the beginning of the session, just as a reminder that she is not always that straightforward!
The sun continued to shine, and we finished off today with a clinic BBQ in the Farmhouse!
Can't believe we have another 3 days left!!
