Remembrance
"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them."
- For the Fallen

This year I worked on a new image, as a tribute to the fallen heroes, to both man and horse. Often known as the "forgotten heroes" in war, horses have carried man into battle for centuries. They were also used to transport ammunition and messages to the front line; to carry food, water and medical supplies into the battlefield and bring the bodies and injured soldiers back. Over a million horses were used by the British Army, and over 8 million horses were believed to have taken part in the Great War.
The horse featured is Zavidovici, also known as "Big Dave." He served over 20 years in the Household Cavalry. Born in 1994, he had a long career in the Blues and Royals regiment and many said he didn’t “put a hoof wrong” during this time.
