More amazing work from our current UK Sniffer Dogs Bronze Scent Detection Class in Tilehurst over the weekend showing off their search and indication skills!
The puppies on our current Puppy Foundation Course located in Tilehurst were showing off some of their new skills today they learned in class including leave it, find it and working on their handling skills to assist with those all important trips to places like the vets and groomers.
Well done to all the puppies today on smashing their session! To the pups who were unable to make the session today, you were throroughly missed and we look forward to seeing you back next week for graduation!
Our UK Sniffer Dog Bronze Scent Detection Dogs were showing off their fantastic nosework this afternoon as they tackled some chair line searches for the first time today as we looked to begin to add some more height to the searches as well as looking at some blind searches for the teams so the handlers really had to rely on their dogs noses and read their body language.
They are all progressing very nicely with their indications and also their ability to focus on the job.
Well done to all the dogs today!π
We had a fantastic session this afternoon working with Dottie & Luna with their Puppy Foundation 1-2-1 session.
Here they are with their owners, doing an amazing job, building foundations for a strong & reliable recall!
We can't wait to see them in our Puppy Foundation Course in a couple of weeks time to continue their training with us.
Cooper showing us his loose lead walking skills
It was so lovely to catch up with Cooper and his owner yesterday. They have been busy working on his loose lead walking. We are so pleased with the progress he has made. Well done Cooper. What a little superstar π€©
Lily has been working on her "whisper" command this evening!
If you have taught your dog something a bit different or a fun trick or in the process of teaching a new skill then we would love to know about it π€
The retreats!! Based in a idilic location in Winnersh.
A novel alternative to walks for any dog, young or old. Inspired by Steve Mannβs βrucksack walkβ concept, learn how to tire your dog without the need for excessive exercise. Using canine enrichment and techniques designed to increase focus in distracting environments or around other dogs as well as improving your loose lead walking skills. Even if you donβt need training for your dog this event is the perfect way to spoil yourself and your dog by spending quality time together. #rewardbaseddogtraining #makingmemories #looseleadwalking #canineenrichment
If you are looking for something a bit different to do with your dogs then why not try a bit of Free-Work with them?
All you need are some random novelty items, some treats or food to lace the area with and off your dog goes exploring!
Free-Work is fantastic for building your dogs confidence with new things aswell as good mental enrichment along with reducing stress/anxiety and releasing happy endorphins in their brains and the best part is, any dog can do it, so its a win win all around. 10 minutes on the nose really is the equivalent of a 60 minute walk!
Here I have incorporated some of Lily's scent training in to the exercise for an added layer of fun. Check it out!
We always enjoy when we received videos from clients π₯°
Here's Loki who recently attended our Puppy Socialisation Workshop and has been doing some 1-2-1 work with the Smart Dog Academy!
When we first met Loki he was a very shy and nervous puppy and we are so pleased with how him and his owners have grown in confidence over the last couple of months!
Look at him showing off his recall now out in public places π
Keep up the amazing work!
