⭐️It’s competition time again⭐️ This month the title is Frosty Feet 🥶 Do you have photos of your dogs out on walks in the frosts of last week or some other time? Are they wrapped up in dog coats to go outside? Or is your cat sitting outside in the cold, rather than staying nice and warm inside!

We would love to see pictures of your pets and for them to be in with chance to win a toy. Please post pictures of your pet’s in the comments with you pets name. The competition will be judged at the end of next week.
We do hope everyone is feeling a little warmer now too.

This is how Ludo continued his treatment… Becky our Vet referred Ludo to a vet specialist to carry out this treatment, he needed to stay in the hospital for 3 days before being allowed home to continue his confinement until his radiation levels were safe for him to go outside again. The treatment was very successful and Ludo is back to full health.

This is Comet, a Netherland Dwarf rabbit 🐰
Unfortunately, Comet has a malformed jaw which is common in this breed of rabbit that causes them to be predisposed to overgrowing teeth.

🦷 Did you know rabbits teeth grow continually through their lifetime?

Comet will have to come in regularly to have her teeth burred to make sure they don’t cause her pain or stop her eating.
Thankfully, she is very well behaved for this!

This is Ludo one of Sally our Head Nurse’s cats. She noticed over the summer that he had lost some weight and was vomiting occasionally. After an examination and blood test with vet Becky, the results came back that Ludo was hyperthyroid! An overactive thyroid gland can be treated with medication, surgery or radioactive iodine therapy. Because Ludo is relatively young to present with this condition and would need lifelong medication and monitoring, Sally felt the best treatment for Ludo was the radioactive iodine treatment.
Please watch out for how Ludo got on with his treatment in the post next week…..

There are lots of new things in the house at Christmas; decorations,
wrapping paper, new toys and lots of boxes to play in.

Over-indulgence is commonplace over the holidays, and while
we can decide whether we really need a bit more cake, our pets
will often accept whatever’s on offer.
However, some foods we have around at Christmas pose
significantly more danger than an upset stomach; so it’s
important to keep them out of paws reach!

As the dark nights draw in and we wind down towards a well-earned break, we
often look forward to a break in routine to let us reset.
The same can’t be said for our pets, however, and often the things we enjoy most
about the festive period can cause stress and worry for our furry family members.
