Sweet girls Ela and Tally during their initial training session ❤️. Both girls had quite a few arguments in the past that had led them to be separated indoors. During the consultation, we covered how to manage and reduce the triggers that cause the friction between girls. Plus the training that will systematically get them closer. Well done girls 🥰.

Gorgeous boy Otto was very pleased to learn all the different ways he can burn his extra energy down, such as mental stimulation activities, training, games, play and physical exercise. This will help him to be calmer around the house, visitors and walks 😊. Well done Otto!

Talking about harnesses.

Those who have worked with me will know that I’m consistent in recommending harnesses for dogs as my favourite walking equipment. In some individual cases it has been a flat collar, however, mainly it would be a well fitting harness.
Harness prevent damage from being done to the dog’s throat due to handlers error, and are more secure than other dog walking equipment, if fitting well.
However, not all harnesses are created equal. Some are more suitable for small breeds and some for larger, and some are not designed well at all.
Straps of the harness should sit far away from the dog's joints. If the straps sit on or too close to the dog's shoulders it can impede movement which at best will be uncomfortable for your dog and at worst could cause future injury and keep young dogs from developing properly.
Too tight fitting harness can produce effect on soft tissue, skin and facial planes. Other unwanted effects include: reduced respiratory capacity, restricted body movement, stress and fatigue caused by ongoing force on to muscles and joints. To avoid the discomfort, dogs often adapt to different postures that can cause issues in a long run. Some dogs display behavioural signs not wanting to wear their harnesses when getting ready for their daily walk.

If you have any concerns about your dog’s harness, or you would like an advice on which one would be most suitable for your dog - get in touch 😊❤️.

Here are some examples of well and poor fitting harnesses:

1st: Harness is positioned too low on the dog’s shoulders, restricting movement. Too loose.

2nd: Harness is too tight around dog’s rib cage.

3rd: Harness is too small for the dog.

4th: Well fitting harness 👍.
5th: Well fitting harness 👍.
6th: Well fitting harness 👍.
7th: Well fitting harness 👍.
8th: Well fitting harness 👍.

Super pleased with Ralph’s second training session! He faced various triggers in different situations, and managed to stay calm and collective. He managed to offer full attention to his owners whilst working on counter conditioning. Well done to Ralph’s owners for practicing those foundation behaviours at home 👏🏻👍😀.

In addition, step by step training plan to gradually build up the time he would be comfortable to stay by himself. Well done Norman!
