Head Groom at Hall Place Equestrian Centre

Location: Reading, Berkshire

Are you passionate about equestrian care and management? Hall Place Equestrian Centre, a busy and highly successful riding school based in Reading, Berkshire, is seeking an experienced and dedicated Head Groom to join our expanding team.

This is a full-time role with a full-time employment contract, offering stability and the chance to make a meaningful impact as part of a thriving equestrian centre.

Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing the care, health, and well-being of all horses on the yard.
- Leading, managing, and supporting the yard team, ensuring smooth daily operations.
- Scheduling and delegating tasks such as mucking out, feeding, and grooming.
- Liaising with the riding school management team to coordinate lessons, events, and horse allocations.
- Organizing farriers and routine vet appointments to ensure horse health and welfare.
- Ensuring the yard is kept safe, tidy, and fully compliant with health and safety regulations.
- Assisting with horse training and preparation for lessons and events, as needed.
- Managing supplies and coordinating with vendors for feed, bedding, and other essentials.

Requirements:
- Previous experience in a senior equestrian role, preferably in a busy riding school or equestrian centre.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- A genuine passion for horse welfare and a proactive approach to management.
- Flexibility to work one weekend day per week (required).
- Ability to handle the physical demands of working in a busy yard environment.

What We Offer:
Annual Salary: Competitive
Hours: 35 hours per week.
