Meet Bishopβ¦
Bishop come to the salon today for the first time. He was extremely wary of new people / environments. His owner wants him to get used to the grooming process because of his breed (husky mix) heβll require frequent deshedding sessions.
I decided that today we would just have a familiarisation day⦠we sat on the floor supplied with lots of Bishops favourite treats until he felt brave enough to come and sit next to me. Where we the moved on to jumping up to the table. All done in his own time with no restrictions. The table lowered to the floor for safety.
Soon enough Bishop was getting use to the blaster being on. And we managed to dry blast some undercoat out. Before his mum arrived with did some practise of getting in and out of the bath big dogs have to use the steps. After a few goes of putting one paw on the step, Bishop now jumps up into the bath no problems. Next time we will incorporate the bath into his grooming appointment. Well done Bishop βοΈ
So today I had biscuit in for her groom. When biscuit first come to me a few months ago. Her reaction was to fight. To be picked up she would try and bite. To groom her legs or generally touch her she would go to bite. Today we had a much calmer version of Biscuit. Still a little way to go but so much progress. Her owners agreed to regular grooming slots to get her used to and hopefully like going to the groomers. Well done Biscuit πͺ
