We feel privileged to have been chosen to work with this gorgeous creature and her awesome humans for the next 6 months.

Adopted just a few months ago, Poppy is still adjusting to her new life. Our programme is designed to smooth that transition, and will become a journey of confidence building to help her feel more relaxed around unfamiliar people.

Finding out Poppy has the most amazing drive to use her nose is a great start, and we will definitely be putting this to good use along the way!

Progress!

This photo may not look much, but it summarises how much progress these two have made- particularly Freddie wearing the yellow nervous lead.

Just a few months ago, Freddie's response to strangers and dogs out on walks was to bark, lunge, and growl.

Freddie and his 'sister' Flo had also never been walked together until a few weeks ago due to the amplification of the behaviour when they were together

In yesterday's session we were able to have a 99% stress free experience, walking calmly in a busy park only a few metres away from numerous distractions that would have previously acted as triggers for this behaviour.

A lot of time and hard work has gone into achieving this result as behaviour modification isn't a quick fix. This is why we don't offer just a session or two, but an entire programme to build on skills and knowledge gradually without the overwhelm.

These are some of the questions we ask all potential clients. Our aim is to find out as much about the issue as we can to determine what level of help is required to serve and begin solving it.

We don't offer quick fixes or just a couple of sessions that we know will form unrealistic expectations. Instead we love building trust and great relationships with our clients, and believe the journey is equally as important as the destination. This is what gets us all the best results.

We absolutely love working on every aspect of a dog's life and routine, and offering improvements that can be made to help them relax.

The method of entry to the car, and how well dogs travel once inside will contribute to their emotional state once arriving at the destination. A highly aroused or anxious journey will affect the brain's arousal levels and set the precedent for the walk.

These two guys are currently working on building confidence entering the car, and also value in the crate area itself.

C O N F I D E N C E This was the very first introduction to a new electric nail trimmer. Our plan is to build some confidence using a choice-based method before any nail trimming even happens. A brand new object that makes a funny noise will be quite a scary prospect for most dogs. A choice-based approach for the dog allows bodily autonomy and is a far less stressful way of introducing new techniques that would normally require restraint.
