📢 Temporary Closure Announcement 📢
This is such a tough post to write.
The past 18–24 months have been like nothing we’ve ever known.
We are at breaking point. 💔
We are having to temporarily close our doors, and for how long, we simply don’t know.
The mass admittances, emergency intakes, and animals arriving elderly or with serious health problems have piled on financial pressure, stretching our already limited time and resources and affecting the wellbeing of everyone caring for these animals.
Many of the animals who have recently come into our care require ongoing medical treatment. This means they cannot yet go up for adoption and in some cases, may never be able to.
Adoptions are at an all-time low, leaving healthy, happy animals waiting here in rescue… while pet shops and breeders continue churning out sales.
Finances are almost depleted. In between our full-time jobs and caring for the animals, we try to attend and hold fundraisers, but sadly, it just isn’t enough.
On top of this, we’re balancing work, families, and our own pets, while still striving to meet the immense needs of the animals here, supported by our fantastic volunteers.
👉 While the doors are closed to new arrivals, the rescue doesn’t stop. We still have 46 animals in our care, with at least 8 surgeries pending, ongoing health issues, hungry bellies to feed, and enrichment to provide every single day.
We’re also continuing our educational posts, preparing for Small Pet Rodent Awareness Week, and fundraising just to keep things ticking over.
Closing our doors doesn’t mean the work ends. It simply means we’re too full, too stretched, and too exhausted to take in any more right now.
We love what we do, and we love every single animal here with us. But the truth is… we cannot keep going like this without change. We need the next few months to reset and make plans for the future.
If we’re contacted to take in animals in the coming months, we will sadly have to say no. This breaks our hearts, but we must safeguard the animals already here and the long-term future of the rescue.
💚 Here’s how you can support us right now:
✅ Adopt – please consider one of the wonderful animals waiting for their forever home.
✅ Share – help us reach more people by sharing this post and our adoption posts.
✅ Donate – every penny goes directly to the animals’ food, enrichment, and vet bills.
✅ Fundraise – a bake sale, quiz night, or collection tin… small efforts make a huge difference.
Every share, every pound, every adoption keeps us going.
Together, we’ve saved over 2,000 animals in just five years. 🐾
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing with us, through the good times and the bad. ❤️
