It’s today !!

It is thought the first cat appeared around 30 million years ago, however domestication of cats is thought to have happened in Egypt around 9000 years ago.

Cat breeds were recognised in the 19th century. They have become a much loved companion to many with an estimated 12 million in the UK.

Microchipping cats became law in 2024 for all domesticated cats before they are 20 weeks old.

I met these two stunners for their microchips this morning. Although they are going to be house cats, they could still make their way outside and get lost. Having their microchips fitted means that if they were found they could be back home with the family in no time 🐾🐾

I met the cutest kitten Bowie today for his microchip. Such a playful and curious little boy He will now be able to roam outside and if he were to wonder off, a quick scan of his microchip would soon have him reunited with his family🐾🐾

Did you know….

😸moggy cats are known to be loving, independent, generally healthy and adaptable

😸moggies come in a variety of colours and markings, mixed shades or solid colours

I met the lovely Toby this morning over at the Russet Greyhound Sanctuary. A lovely 8 year old chap who is due to go to his forever home next week.

Sandra at Russet does an incredible job helping to rehome so many dogs of all breeds. There are many more dogs of all ages and breeds still waiting to find their forever sofas 🐾🐾
