The first antigen-based point-of-care test (POCT) in veterinary diagnostics was an antigen detection assay for canine dirofilariasis, developed in the 1980s.
This opened the door for more POCTs in companion animals, utilising methods like antigen capture or antibody detection . Subsequently, the development of lateral flow immune assay technology has made POCT much more widely available.

World Heart Day π
Today is #WorldHeartDay π
Whether human or animal, we celebrate the hearts of our homes and raise awareness of cardiovascular disease that affects so many.
Bacteriophages may offer high-benefit options to both the human and animal health industries and help to overcome the challenge of antibiotic resistance.
Rapid decision-making is key in busy veterinary clinics.
Here at Carus, we understand the importance of making informed clinical decisions without delay, not just for the benefit of busy vets, but also for the wellbeing of pets and their owners.
We are dedicated to advancing point-of-care diagnostics recognising the profound impact that rapid test performance can have.
