04.10.24
Let me tell you a story of a little French bulldog; in her short life with breeders, we suspect she was forcibly bred (r***d) after serving her purpose. She was no longer wanted, and she was given to an owner who already had purchased one of her pups, not knowing the circumstances in which they took her.
Only to find that if another dog went near her, she would attack (and who can blame her), so we found her a nice home. Unfortunately, after a few weeks, she was so intent on seeing off any animal that approached that she once again was returned.
Sadly, when she gets too worked up, she has epileptic fits, not enough to warrant medication, so keeping her calm seems to be essential. Do we think she will find another chance to live in a home without other pets? Perhaps in the countryside, we will live in hope until then. Would you sponsor her care? SKY DOB 26.01.2018

07.10.24 I’m off to my new lifetime foster home

04.10.24 Rory's home visit was done and passed, just waiting for his collection date. meanwhile, his foster home are walking him daily

Rory the spaniel is a bundle of energy with some serious skills. He can sit, stay, lay down when asked, and he's a ball-fetching enthusiast! 🤪 But to keep up with his energy, he needs a very active home. Could that be yours? He's available on our Lifetime Foster scheme. SORRY YOU'VE MISSED ME😘
Rescue kennels are open daily (donations accepted) from 12 noon until 2 pm.

Many pet owners have a wide variety of reasons for asking rescues to take in pets. Rescue including ours at PET RESCUE WELFARE Charity, we require funds to care for these pets that do fall under the heading of Abandoned (see dictionary definition). In the interest of openness and public information, we are publishing the NEW criteria for taking in pets. We will require the following information
1. The reason for handing in your pet (not to judge but to understand).
2. Is your pet fully vaccinated (a vaccine card is required).
3. Is your pet Neutered?
4. Has your pet had any aggression issues?
5. We will require permission to contact your vet for history
6. We require the Microchip papers.
7. A letter with as much of your pet's information on (likes etc).
8. An intake donation minimum of £50 to help towards some cost of care. If vaccines and or neutering are also required help towards those costs may/would be asked for.
9. Is your pet compatible with dogs/cats/children/strangers/OAPs/disabled.
10 What type of new home would suit your pet?
* Please PRIVATE MESSAGE from this page as much information as possible and INCLUDE A PHOTO so the staff can discuss the possibility of an intake. If and when your pet is accepted and you are offered a place all the information will be required and you will need to sign your pet over to Pet Rescue Welfare please note we do not relinquish pets back into the home that has signed them over. A photo of you and your pet will be taken for security reasons at the sign-over. The information you sign will be classed as a legal document
*Fees can be discussed under certain circumstances?
We have a non-destructive policy so pets can stay a prolonged length of time in certain circumstances.

AVAILABLE FOR LIFETIME FOSTER but only to a very special home. This is Sky a French bulldog, who came into rescue on 02/10/22 she has been used for breeding and is therefore best as an only pet. At 4 years old and after 3 litters she now needs a Lifetime foster home,
Sky has been forcibly bred in her mind held down and forcibly (r***d) so she hates other dogs around her back end or too near, she also dislikes being held too tightly. When walking she will attempt to chase off anything she sees as a threat. Any foster home will need patience, understanding and the abilities to give her time and confidence

Offers of sponsorship only in comments now, please!
08.03.24 Sadly Scruff is being returned again for the 2nd time. We may need to keep him as a long-term resident so anyone out there who would like to sponsor him or his kennel please contact Marj on 07721627486 please remember we rely on donations. He cannot live with other pets and Due to scuffs original owners not training socialising or walking him, we have no other option but to keep him in long-term residence. We do thank everyone for their comments but to safeguard him from falling into the wrong hands (dog fighters) he will be staying here we are aware of the breed instinct but sadly he is more damaged than that it’s not his fault. ***Please only comment you wish to sponsor him***
Intake 26/10/22 Scruff available for Lifetime Foster Scheme now 8 years old due to lack of training by his owners he can not go off his lead.
Breed Patterdale x Lakeland.

We have some lovely dogs in the rescue looking for LIFETIME foster homes but it seems people would sooner adopt dogs from other parts of the world while dogs in our and other rescues are passed by.
Luckily we have a nondestruction policy but some rescues in GB don't and dogs do face being put to sleep.
I am not saying it's wrong to rescue from overseas but you could also find yourself with a dog that has never lived in a home (depending on the culture) or has behavioral issues due to war/ famine/culture/ health issues that we in GB don't have.
Yes with work I am not saying things can't work out but please consider rescues in GB / Wales / Scotland and yes I am well aware that rescue dogs may arrive with baggage but who these days hasn't?
Think GB first, please

Foster terms please read before Applying

The Rescue Kennels are OPEN for viewings & prospective Lifetime foster owners daily from 12 noon until 2pm
(Foster phone line 07721627486 and leave a message 24hr answer phone for a return call) Comments will be turned off once a pet is on reserve!!
IMPORTANT If you are in rented accommodation permission must be on your lease or in writing to have a pet.
Pets will only be placed on a property with a private fully fenced garden. We do not put dogs into homes with children under 6 years old.
1. The process is an application questionnaire that will need to be completed by phone before or after your visit.
2. The particular dog you are interested in will then be placed on a temp reserve
2A. Any dog that is required to go as a second dog should accompany its owner but must have an up-to-date vaccination card to be shown at the time. (We don't place dogs in to become 3rd plus pets in a home)
3. Dogs can be placed on a temp reserve in the order they have been seen, but another reserve will still be taken as a backup.
4. A home check will be carried out within a couple of days before a decision is taken.
5. We will try to arrange for the dogs if they are already in temp foster to be at the kennels to be viewed so do make an appointment.
6. Once all checks are completed a £50 donation to the foster scheme is required on collection of your pet
**7. Important: Please note Dogs will be placed to suit the age and ability of both the dog & fostering applicant, we do not discriminate but try to match. Please do not be offended if you are not found compatible, perhaps another pet will suit you better. The kennel staff know the pets in their care and a joint discussion is held before any placements are made.

20/03/2023

To avoid disappointment Home checks are required after viewing, placement will then be made in the dog's welfare interest and placed with the age and ability of both the dog & applicant so a suitable match can be made.
